I'm getting a bit bored of eating pasta and soup every day so was wondering if anyone had any recipes or suggestions as to some alternatives that will preferably keep in the fridge (we have no freezer).

Any ideas?

Roast beef. Seriously, it lasts ages in the fridge when you're done. Just roast it at 180C for a couple of hours and then slice it. Put the slices you're not eating in a tub and you have a few days of meals. Works with a pork joint too. Then all you need is potatoes and gravy, although the slices are also really good on sandwiches.

What a great idea, I would never have thought of something like that.

You could do a beef stew/hotpot. Braising steak or stewing steak is cheap, and the rest is just stock, carrots, potatoes, tomatoes...whatever you like in stew really.

And you can make a lot, and it's usually better the second time you heat it up
