Good luck!
I know it can't be as bad as talking to a Bank Of America customer service staff in Jakarta.

I don't even know where all my loans are now. According to the letter I got from the Dep. of Education I have close to $38k in loans available for consolidation. Sallie Mae has about $26.5k, Great Lakes has $12k and they still have like $3500. They claim to have paid the loans on the 20th, does it just take time to get it all sorted out, or is this the final tally of the loans?

I know little about this but I know people who had various student loans. They combined them and just owe one payment per month to one bank. If I remember correctly, I think that bank paid off the other student loans and this is why they just owe the one bank money. It is smaller payment actually and they write off part of it for income taxes.

I hope this gets sorted out for you.

Take note America.

In Europe, everyone gets FREE university education.

No, we don't. There might be some countries that do, like France I think, but not the UK, and other countries are introducing fee's too.

I hope so too. lol

Since they just paid them on the 20th I'm hoping they're still processing the payments and updating the information on my online account. If not, I'm going to have to find out about other options, if they're available. lol

All depends on the course you're doing and the university.

If you are an EU student doing a srandard degree then you'd be looking at around ?3500 per year.
If you were not from the EU, that would rise to around ?9000 per year.

If you were an EU student studying for your PHD, then you'd be looking at ?20,000+ per year
