My lovely car.
January 16, 2011 @ 10:28:07 am
Not sure if anyone rememberssss...but ive been having troubles with my car for sometime now.
yea well after having both ignition coils replaced, my crank shaft position sensor replaced, my timing belt replaced etc...it was still running like crap. I finally got it back to a shop this morning thinking it would cost me a few hundred dollars, 400 max whatever the problem may be. Come to find out i had a hole in my exhaust pipe, my alternator needed to be replaced and my motor mounts needed to be replaced as well. needless to say, I am out another 850 dollars and i am just going to start prayingggg that It is fixed for now. Fingers Crossed everyone.

If it isn't fixed (probably not) then a repair shop soaked you for $800.

There's that point where the car stopped being a means of transportation and becomes a money pit. You're kind of close to that. Either that or you need to find a shop that charges better.

well the hole that was in my exhaust pipe is fixed (the flex pipe to be exact)
which has made it a helll of a lot quieter.

the new motor mount has caused it to stop being so shaky.

and the alternator has stop the jerky driving.

so as of right now im pretty pleased.

it just sucks having to spend so much money on a car i got less that a year ago.

my problem is i feel like theres always something new wrong with it.

yeah i knowww ace :/
im pretty close to getting rid of it.
im gonna wait and see what happens with these repairs. im pretty happy with it right now but ya never know.

i wouldve gotten rid of it a while back if a.) it wasnt a reliable ride
regardless of all the problems ive had
b.) it was pretty much given to me as a gift and is paid off

YEah i could see how that would become annoying. Fix one thing just so something else can break off. Kind of why i buy new, once the all encompassing warranty runs out, i trade it in for something else. In HS and college i had the car that kept having things fall off.

Need to make a friend that's good with cars!

Not having a monthly payment would be nice though

haven't experienced that since 1999

Sometimes it happens. Most people don't maintain their cars and when something goes bad that costs more than a few dollars they cut it loose to somebody else. Newer cars aren't designed to last very long past the warranty anyway.

right? it is a lovely feeling. i pay enough towards my other bills. haha

and tell me about it...ive been looking for a friend whos good with cars for sometime now. starting to think i should just become a mechanic myself.

could be pretty cool and have its benefits. i mean who doesnt wish they could fix their own car? and who doesnt love a girl who works on cars? win win.

I baby the crap out of my cars, and so far they've returned the favor by not breaking down
