Nice, easy spaghetti bolognese or chilli? I have a couple of easy recipes for both but if you want them let me know as I'll have to post them when I get home later today. Also clean up, add a couple table decorations and light a couple candles, that should work

I would definitely make a dinner that incorporated cuisine that both of them like. I would never make my parents an Italian dish, because while my mother loves Italian cuisine, my father hates it. While my father loves authentic Eastern food, my mother doesn't particularly care for it. Both of my parents, however, love Asian cuisine. So, the last time that I traveled to visit them, I made them a Mongolian style stir fry with noodles. It was simple as pie! Or, it doesn't even need a theme: Baked chicken breasts, vegetables and rice (or something standard).
It doesn't have to be anything too incredibly elaborate. I'm sure they will love your efforts!
It's all about presentation. Make sure the night is special and romantic for the both of them.

For my parents' last anniversary, my brother and I sent my parents out with two movie tickets and a gift card to their favorite restaurant. Something simple, but great.

Good luck! Let us know what you decide to make! =]

I'll say just order a cake and some snacks and give them a surprise party.

Shrimp scampi over fresh pasta....angel hair is my favorite! A arugula salad with CREAMY Italian dressing. FRESH Cuban or French bread for dipping in the scampi butter!!! Lots of garlic!!! For dessert.....simple......chocolate covered strawberries and GOOD champagne!!!
