So my boyfriend just dumped me.

We had been together about 2 years and it just "wasn't working"

The sad part is, we are still so very much in love with each other. We have just had sooo many issues that it was just falling apart.

The poor guy was crying when he did it, and has been feeling the way I feel but he still sticks with his decision.

I cant eat. I sleep all day (as i work nights) I only get out of bed when i need to. Only leave the house when I have to go to work.

It is killing me. My eyes are all puffing from the tears... I have a cold sore from the stress.

i just cant see my life without him.. but I am going to have to. He was such a major part of my life for so long.

I just want to know how everyone copes when this happens? I know it gets better eventually but it has only been a few days and I just feel so blue. I need to know how to get through each day...

I don't have many friends. And my parents are very unsupportive at the moment. I am finding living back at home rather difficult also.

It's tough, I know. And believe me, I do know.
But the saying is true, time heals all wounds. But sometimes it leaves a scar. I am afraid its a case of chin up, and try to smile. But that is easier said than done.

And a big tub of icecream sometimes helps.

I have no advice. Everyone copes differently.

If it's any help, it sounds like you ARE coping, by sleeping more and feeling sad. And most importantly, you know that it will get better over time.

I'm sorry that you're hurting though and wish that there was some magic to make it better right now.. Sadly, there isn't.

Ice cream, chick flicks and a good cry sometimes help. Forget the bowl, all you need is a tub of Ben and Jerry's and a spoon.

It's tough, sometimes really tough. It is a case of everyone dealing with things different but I found getting out of bed and doing things to help. It was the last thing I'd want to do, I felt protected in bed in a way, but getting out of bed and doing things helped.

It takes time, but time helps. I ate loads of pizza and drank loads of beer, not sure if alcohol is the best solution though, but different things work for different people.

Jmo is essentially correct.
Eat and drink stuff that is bad for you until you get him out of your system. (Your ex I mean, not Jmo)

I can't add much more than the others already have, and you already realize on your own. I would like to add however, to avoid the junk food if you possibly can. It may help at the moment, but being a woman, if indulging ends you with weight gain, you are going to feel so much worse. Instead, make yourself be active, especially out in the fresh air.
I hope you bounce back quickly.

Maybe go on a walk. I know when I feel like you are feeling at the moment. I go for a big walk. Maybe not as a big as the ones I go on because I can easily walk from sun up to sun down. But walk for as long as you need to and then turn back.

It sounds incredibly simple but I agree with you on that.

I remember about a week after my first real girlfriend dumped me I went for a walk around this loch, took about an hour and a half all told and it was brilliant. Just being out, fresh air, not wallowing in my room.

Something I did was when I went to bed at night I'd put on a comedy dvd, usually stand up, or watch comedy playlists on youtube. I did that because the laughter would keep my mind off her long enough to sleep. I found the silence of bed-time horrible as I had nothing but my mind to keep me company, which would inevitably turn to her.

me and my first love was inseperatable for 3 months and i fell for him pretty hard and really fast i didnt even realize i was inlove with him til after we broke up cuz i was a train wreck and thought about him all the time and just seeing his face in my mind made break down and cry even if i heard a song on the radio and it was like that for 2 weeks pretty much and then i realized he was never gonna take me back and i was depressed for like 2 years over it it took me 3 years to actually get over him.
and so u will get over him u just have to keep yourself busy so u dont think about him and i know its hard right now but u just have to take it one day at a time and thats really sad that your parents are not there for you this i dont know what i would have done if my mom wasnt there for me through all the bulls*** i had to go through cuz my friends were not there for me through it.

You're adorable, Tequila. I'm sure you're problem will quickly change to attempting to dodge all the boys that are going to start approaching you once they figure out that you're available.
