Link to Fox News report gives and in-depth article on Glenn Beck who has stated he was wrong to issue statements that he felt President Obama had a deep seated hatred for white people. Very interesting take on his philosophy regarding President Obama's interest or support in "collective salvation" theology. Even if you don't like Beck, you should read the article. He is a political power in the US and he will have influence over US politics. If his event on Saturday past is any indication, he may have eclipsed Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly. He appears to be more of a Libertarian than a Republican and readily states that both the Democrat and Republican Party have "sold their souls". If you like politics, this is worth a read. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/08/29/beck-amends-obama-racist-comment-questions-belief-collective-salvation/?test=latestnews

The Fox News report can be compared to other media groups reporting on Beck's statement. Interesting slants depending on where you stand in the political spectrum:
https://thinkprogress.org/2010/08/28/beck-obama-racist-theology/
https://dailycaller.com/2010/08/29/beck-amends-obama-is-racist-charge-questions-his-belief-in-collective-salvation/
https://www.suite101.com/content/glenn-beck-amends-saying-obama-racist-admits-to-big-fat-mouth-a280106

Not surprisingly, I could find nothing, at this time, regarding this story at CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS. A shame that the traditional media is so far behind in almost everything of interest and accuracy. A recent report has revealed that 88% of the executive level employees at these networks contributed only to President Obama's campaign. It is certainly their right to do that, but it makes one pause regarding objectivity in news and event reporting.

Here's a few reasons the Tea Party continues to grow stronger rapidly and why mainstream Americans are likely to sympathize with the organizations. Some people should learn to stay off camera or simply say "no comment".

First, Ben Jealous NAACP on YouTube during Beck's rally stating the Beck audience would not applaud MLK's speech if they heard it. Now that will get a bunch of people to go his way. Only hurts his cause and mission and plays havoc with the Democrat Party having to choose a side. Apologize for the blog in the link, but I could not get YouTube to come up with the direct video. It can be accessed here, though. https://blog.eyeblast.tv/2010/08/naacp-president-says-beck-crowd-wouldnt-applaud-mlk-speech/

Now, John Cusack, whom I like as an actor. However, like most of these Hollywood people, they must have left their brainstems in their hometowns. Another guy who will make many of us feel all warm and fuzzy for the left of center. The Left really needs to get more realistic and pragmatic about these people and get away from them. Cusack says he wants a satanic death cult to set up shop at Fox News, the offices of conservative activists and "GOP welfare freaks" (whatever that means). I didn't bother with a link as the blogs are having a field day with Cusack's statement and his apparent inability to put together a statement with correct spelling and verbage. Google or Bing: Cusack Fox News Satanic Cult. Enlightening.

Accused Obama of worshipping Satan: "Thanks, Mr. President, but I think we're going to keep the Internet the way it is right now. You know ? or at least until people who are worshipping Satan, you know, aren't in office."

That was a doubly idiotic rant because he thinks net neutrality is an attempt to censor when it is in fact the opposite.

Beck is a private entertainment political spokesperson. He is, I believe, a Libertarian which is a political theory group that wants minimal government involvement in private life and federal government involvement in foreign affairs held to only the absolute necessary.

The satan reference was reported here. It was more comic banter about President Obama having a problem with flys (insects) that kept landing on his hands or face during photo shoots and a rat that scurried along the White House steps toward (instead of away from) his speaking podium when he was giving an speech. No one took that seriously here except for those so far left they feel the need to defend him against all.

Beck has every right as an American citizen to make any comparisons he wants of a current presidential administration to any other political operation that has existed. Up to the listener to determine if he is serious, semi-serious or sarcastic. Most of us can draw the distinction.

The implication of killing. Agreed. Sounds over the top. None of us would want to believe any of our elected representatives would be capable of committing or sanctioning a murder, right?

Actually, Obama is a student of Saul Alinsky. He does favor social democracy, although pushing it to Marxism/Communism is admittedly a stretch. That is the Libertarianism speaking. Obama has stated he believes in "collective salvation" and that is a term that sets many Christians on edge. Look it up if you're not familiar with the political ramifications of the term. Religiously, it refers to Lucifer in the OT, but politically, it takes on a rather dark meaning for a democratic republic like the U.S.

Again, he makes his money from entertainment and most people who listen to him take in some of what he says and discounts some of what he says, just like with anything else. He does not appear to have a lunatic fringe and he's never espoused violence. Gotta take all this with a grain of salt.

You know, Satan?

Saul Alinsky ? we are dealing with people who think they should rebel until they get their little kingdom like Satan did. You know what? Thanks, Mr. President, but I think we're going to keep the Internet the way it is right now. You know ? or at least until people who are worshipping Satan, you know, aren't in office.

All that really says is that he has compared Obama to Satan or claimed that Obama is Satan atleast three times because I don't think what you're referencing is either of the situations, I just posted.

I'm not disagreeing that he has the right to make such comparisons. I am saying that he shouldn't make such comparisons. Just as the Phelps family have a right to protest funerals.

And on the note of serious, semi-serious and sarcastic, I would say that from what I've seen of the show probably %80 of his comparisons to Hitler and Stalin are serious ones.

They absolutely would but I doubt they would do so to a Television presenter. Beck's constant claims that the government are out to get him are comparable to the most paranoid ravings of a schizophrenic.

@Junkyard_Jim Said

Well his policies have barely even been enough to call social democracy. I mean I'm not an expert on the healthcare bill but it seemingly didn't bring about universal healthcare. I would say he is more third way, social democracy at a stretch. Claiming that he is a communist puts it completely out of perspective and so I will do what I always do when such a claim is made and post a political compass.

@Junkyard_Jim Said
That is the Libertarianism speaking.

Beck's political views are irrelevant in determining whether someone is a communist or not. Simply being to the same side of someones political views does not mean that they follow the ideology of the fringe of that side. For instance Obama is more right and more authoritarian than I but that does not make him a fascist. Likewise, because I am more right wing than Stalin does not make me a neo-liberal.

Beck proclaiming to be a libertarian makes no difference as to whether or not other people follow certain ideologies.

I couldn't find anything reputable on it. What would you say the dark meaning "collective salvation" would have for a democratic republic?

Hmmm it would be hard for him to have lunatic fringe supporters when he is part of the lunatic fringe himself. Him having entertainment in his show is no excuse for the blatant dishonesty that he constantly produces.

OK well what I think he is saying is that Obama has said that he has been influenced by Saul Alinsky and Alinsky dedicated his book to Lucifer therefore Obama worships Satan. If you have another meaning which you believe he is trying to communicate please supply it.

I think where you stand in the political spectrum affects perception of what any pundit says. I'm not as far right of center as Mr. Beck, but he has many valid points. The far left will allow for none because they detest conservatism and hate libertarianism even more. Beck is what he is and he has rights that allow him to do what he does. He's on the air, he;s a millionaire, he draws immense crowds, he donates a lot of his money to very good charitable causes and he's relatively religious - a Mormon.

His Mormonism is another thing that scares the left spectrum. He will continue to affect US politics and he should. We have a very far left crowd controlling our Congress and White House presently and Beck is one of the balances our system of checks and balances cannot politically provide at present.

Why would those networks comment on a guy who works for FOX? Wouldn't it be bad business to tell people to tune in and watch this guy on another network? Do networks routinely report on commentators from other networks?

And how much did Murdoch give to Obamas campaign?

I don't know what Murdoch contributed. As much as it takes to remain influential, I guess. Reporting is an objective skill that is supposed to look past the issues and politics is all. We've polarized here into uncompromising camps, certainly. It will be an interesting election cycle over the next several years.
