Seriously is this how pathetic Christians are becoming now in the USA? First rewriting history books to exclude Thomas Jefferson for some christian nutter instead, and now asking to ban a science book which rightfully calls creationism a 'biblical myth'?

If I had to worship satan to be intelligent, then I would do just that before turning to any stupid religion.

It's crazy how far they're willing to go without any evidence

it should be reworded, as of current there is no scientific evidence of creationism, but on the other hand there isn't any scientific evidence that 100% disproves creationism.

It depends on what it was calling a myth. If it was calling the existence of a group of men walking around 2000 years ago preaching and calling the crucifixion of a person in Jerusalem a myth, any historian could argue against that. There is historical data to suggest that there were such events taking place.

Perhaps the knock-on effect will be that it pushes those who view creationism as a glorified myth to push back.

It still amazes me, that a country that was pursued for freedom of religion [things that a person believes in] is ultimately just as fanaticle about Christianity as any Muslim country it find abhorent...go figure...

Are you being serious? Do you even know the definition of 'Myth'???

Heres a definition to help you out:

'Myth - a traditional story accepted as history; serves to explain the world view of a people'.

So how is Creationism not a Biblical Myth???

Calling something a myth isnt stating that it is a lie or completely false, it is stating that it is a belief which has not yet been proven, which actually is what the entire bible and any other religion is.

So this is why Chrisitians are complaining because they are too stupid to understand what the word Myth actually means? .

yes, i am being serious.

it is not the place of science to dictate whether something is a myth or not.
science is here to make informed judgements on the available evidence, that's why things like evolution, are taught as theory's and not fact.

also you may want to revise the way you use dictionary's.

There's no scientific evidence that disproves Zeus or the Flying Spaghetti Monster either.

Myth is myth. And creationism is absolutely not science.

I thought for something to be discredited, it had to be proved wrong.

Just feeling around in the dark here (like the Catholic priest said to the orphan )

People who believe in creationism are just plain nuts, given there is scientific proof of evolution. Back in the day, when a bunch of quacks wrote these religious texts, they had no concept of what we know now. But now, we can trace the progression of homonids from their primitive form to the modern human. We also know of two major extinctions that wiped out almost all life on earth, allowing the surviving species to dominate and evolve...progressing to the modern species we see today. For all those out there who believe the Earth was created in six days and then God rested, where the hell do dinosaurs factor in? You can't say they never existed...even five year olds are aware that they did. If there is someone out there who believes in Creationism and can explain to me where dinosaurs fit into this theory, I'm all ears.

Like many other such questions, it usually gets blamed on the work of the Devil in order to lure people away from God...
