I request an option to disable the PM/notification animations.

The notification bubble and PMs both sort of slide into existence instead of just appearing. I do not like it.

I kind of like the slide effect. But yeah I guess some people will like it and some won't. I suppose having an option is good. But I'm surprised something so little like that would bother you.

Have you tried the "new system" "old system" option?
I just found that by clicking the arrow beside PM tab.
Not sure if that'll help though.

It doesn't bother me, but I don't like it

Unnecessary animation effects always tick me off a little actually. I always turn off the various animations in Windows (minimize/maximize, sliding taskbar buttons, drop-down fade-ins, etc) and on my phone (I downloaded an app called Spare Parts specifically to disable screen transition animations). It annoys me that I have to sit there and wait half a second for something to show up when there's no good reason for it not to just instantly appear.

And going from having it instantly appear to having to wait for it to appear seems like a bit of a step backward to me.

This is a bit off topic, but doesn't Android have a setting already for disabling window slide animations? I know I had them disabled for a period of time on my phone. I didn't think a separate app was required to turn them off.

Does it really? How did I miss that?

I am duly reprimanded.

On my phone, it's under Settings app > Sound and Display > scroll down to Display Settings > Animation (check/uncheck)

I just found it. Doh.

TFS needs that setting! If it's good enough for Google it should be good enough for Tino

Yeah some way of disabling the jQuery animations would be good. Sometimes it appears slow and tacky on slower computers too

It's a little slow and awkward on my laptop but I'm not terribly bothered.

I personally like it though, so I don't want tino to think we don't want it and just remove it.
