Probably been done to death, but it's being discussed in another thread and thought it deserved one of its own. Some people think creationism should be taught in science lessons along side Evolution.

What do you think?

Do you believe they should be taught hand in hand, or should Creationism stay in the Religious class and Evolution stay in the Science class?

I think . . .

Creationism should stay in the religious class. Because it's basically a myth and there is absolutely no evidence to support it. It's to do with faith, not scientific theory or fact.

As do I. There is no scientific basis for creationism. Besides, which religion would you preach? Different groups have vastly different views......

I don't see a problem with creationism taught, as long as everything else is. Like evolutionism and even the flying spaghetti monster.

IF things are taught right, it should be so that students understand the basic concepts, and they can choose which on (or a combo) to believe. If they want more details or information they can go to a church, or a library, like any other subject.

Also, if people understood the basic principles on both sides debating them on the internet would be more fun

Always cracks me up when people bring up what should or shouldn't be taught in school.

Who cares...

People will believe in whatever they want with out without school direction.

Look at it like any other subject.

If you tought about racism in school, will that make kids choose between being a racist or not?

If you tought about thieft in school, would that make kids choose to become criminals or not?

Nope. Kids gleam whatever facts best connect with thier lives. More information provided by a school will only secure whatever beliefs they might have, not change thier minds.

being American, you should care. it's an infringement on our Bill of Rights. It's a serious problem, and even worse that the majority of some states think it SHOULD be taught. The very foundation that the U.S.A. was built upon has crumbled due to pure ignorance.

gladly.

Would you like a translation too? Okay. Public schools are payed for by taxes. Tax payers choose whether or not to believe in anything. Schools, funding by these people can not RESPECT the institution of religion, no prohibit it's excercise. This means they CAN NOT teach it, but if a child wants to pray they can.
