Is Democracy working? Is it just an illusion?
Is there any working alternatives?

Different democracies are working to different degrees, depending upon the method of electing officials and the civil liberties of the people of the nation.

I think the particular democracy which I live in works fairly well, although there is significant room for improvement.

And there is no alternative.

that we know of doesnt mean there is no alternative and it suits the majority not the minority which is the best we are capable of at this point i personaly would prefer a waste land infested with zombies so i could spend my days slaughtering them and my only purpose would be survival and to procreate..............a guy can dream although in my dream havent really got a weapon in mind i mean ammo would be short so guns are out of the question and maybe the zombies can move fast so sword wouldnt be to good any suggestions?

Democracy doesn't really work because it just gives the have-nots the illusion of any power, it doesn't matter which party gets in because its the same group of people at the top, so whoever it is will really be working to strengthen their position.

In night of the living dead they had to shoot them in the head. Without a gun I would chop off arms and legs. then they could lnot move. The danger is getting swarmed.

If you are sick do you vote on the treatment or go to a doctor?

For a couple of decades in ancient Athens, yes.

I suppose there have been good and bad monarchs, good and bad dictators, has there ever been a good democracy?

I thought the Electoral College voted for the President and Vice President of the US. . . The vote of the people is just an illusion.
Or am I wrong again?

So, are we a democracy?

When someone asks a rule bearer this question. The answer will be

"First we are a capitalistic society. Secondly, we are a Republic. Third we are a democracy."

We are a mixture truly because everything overlaps. We just take the good and try to discard the bad.

The Electoral College represents the votes of the states, rather then the population. If a candidate has the majority of votes in a particular state, then they win all of that state's electoral votes. So it's not really an "illusion".

The vote of the Electoral College is directly determined by the popular vote. So you're wrong about it being an "illusion." I suppose you just don't understand the EC system.
