Movies depict time travel as something that, one day humans can do.
We all know that this is clearly just a flight of fantasy.
I'm sure I read somewhere, (I would love to know where I saw it, I think it was that BBC science magazine) that in a particle accelerator experiment, an atom of some sort was moving so fast, it collided with itself.
Weather that is true or not, I don't know. It would be interesting if it where.
But the again, it may of been in a fiction novel somewhere.

The way I see it, if time travel where indeed possible, You cannot visit the past because it would endanger the present. Possible paradox.
But you cannot visit the future either because it has not happened yet.
Or am I looking at this all the wrong way?
Your thoughts?

I don't see any logical problems with travelling into the future. The future is already set, in my opinion - everything is causally determined.

How can it be set if it has not yet happened? Your talking about fate.
Now I'm the skeptic.

The current state of matter in the universe and the forces acting on it determine the future course it will take. Although it hasn't happened yet, it has to happen in a certain way. If you want to call it fate, I suppose that's appropriate.

What forces are acting on the universe? And how will they affect the course of whether I eat this full tub of Ben and Jerrys Cherry Garcia or whether I leave half in the freezer?
I know not the future of this tub of ice cream...!

The forces and particles are so innumerable that you can't possibly predict the future of the tub of ice cream at an atomic level. However, your state of nourishment, subconscious influences, past experiences of Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia etc. will ultimately determine how much of it you eat. Everything happens for a reason.

How do people propose to travel through something that doesn't actually exist?

Interesting view... if there is no time, how can things ever change?

By the actually means by which they do anyway; Time is just an abstract concept devised to record chronological status...

Thats a bloody good answer Buffalobill90. Ice cream wont be going back in the freezer and has instead been eaten by me!
Which proves time travel into the future isnt possible as you yourslf said.

I have heard some daft theories in my time. Past, present future. All exist. We call the travel from one point to the next, time.
How can it not exist? I suppose you believe the Earth is flat as well.
