Hi all
Congrats everyone in US with jobs in Technology, customer service, sales as well as marketing, personnel, accountancy and finance ? because these jobs will be looking up within the next 12 months according to a survey done by Forbes.

What does this mean for the UK?
Will their good fortune flow over to us?
I would just love to see some recovery. I do a lot of research with my job and I?m constantly on websites researching and articles like these create a lot of hope. But can we cling to this hope whatsoever?

Jeanne, are you in recruitment??

I am, I am currently self employed recruitment consultant, and possible starting my own agency in the next few months. I have seen a up turn in the engineering market already.. especially in the R&D sectors.

I feel like I killed this thread!

HAHA...

Well...its hard to tell what will happen. Because of the economy right now...we have A LOT companies, plants etc shutting down. Others are outsourcing to different countries because they just can't afford to continue running the business here due to the economy.

Here we have a cigar factory...that was founded and has been in FL since 1910 or so...they closed down their factory and outsourced to somewhere in South America (sorry forgot the specifics). With these types of things...outsourced jobs are mainly in a manufacturing setting and I'm not particularly sure those would be ideal jobs for those in other developed countries. I would guess...that we keep our IT, Finance etc jobs here and outsource the other types.

But we have a big boom in green jobs. A study from FSU (Florida State University) that came out yesterday said just in the Orlando - Tampa area (central Florida) 500,000 new jobs have been created.

Think of the number nationwide.

No, not recruitment but research in fields from labour markets to travel, health and social copywriting for different publications?
You must surely start your own thing!!!
Thanks for both your feedback!
boobagins, ?green? jobs here is also getting a lot of attention as cutting down on carbon emissions is a BIG thing at the moment EVERYWHERE
I?m sure if you guys get out of the recession then we are to follow or will we be first?
My understanding of the economy is so limited it is frightening lol?

Ahh but thats where the capitalistic market comes in. Which country can sustain the workers better...who's countries laws are more flexible...which country offer more tax incentives.

Every country will want to retain these types of jobs and ideas and in turn will make their country seem more "ideal" than another country to start a business etc.

But I do understand what you are saying about study and research...yes you'll probably benefit from our studies, advances etc and vice versa. When one country prosper...another similar country usually follows suite as well..especially with increase in trade.

YaY to the future.
