I do too...but I don't want to pay for New York's homeless. I rather pay for my state (which already has a high rate) then the all the other states that push their problem on us. We're already trying to combat our homeless problem...and barley keeping up. I mean we're building tent city for god's sake. What chance do we have when another state pushes their problem on to us?

Don't you see why im mad? NY is not talking care of the problem, they're just pushing on to other and making it bigger. Instead of spending 50 million on this "re-locating" thing, why not spend 50 million on rehabilitating them? If the homeless (a large population) can become productive working citizens, its good for the economy, especially a states economy. But their doing the exact opposite. It pisses me off.

Send your homeless back to them. I think we should be looking at why there are so many homeless instead of being pissed at having to pay for them. We all pay for stuff we don't want to.
What if you were homeless? Would you like that attitude thrown at you.

Thats my point...we need to spend money on education/rehabilitation, but they're not. I know we pay for stuff we don't want to. I am all for taxes and paying my share. But why should i pay NY created taxes and they not pay anything for us? This isn't about paying for rehabilitation programs and stuff. Its the difference between the states. I don't think its right for them to shuffle their problem on to us. ANd we can't send them back...its not our program, and if we do create a program, we're just entering the circle of shuffling the problem instead of taking care of them.

Where does it say they have to prove there are relatives at the destination?

You are right. The article does not say that. I heard it on the radio and they said they had to have proof.

They have tried that in every city and it just doesn't work. Education/rehabilitation? That sounds like work. New York has tried everything and it has failed. I think this might work.
