If there had been no public memorial service people would be complaining.

If the kids hadn't been there, people would be complaining.

If the kids had been there but hadn't been on stage, people would have complained about that too.

The REAL tragedy is something we actually can't appreciate because we aren't members of MJ's family. THAT is the real tragedy - having personally known him and lost him.

MJ's family could so easily have decided to not have a public memorial at all. Dealing with grief is hard enough - to decide do it publicly - and now - for the fans sake, is pretty brave.

So you think its worth putting his children through that to appease rabid fans? And i actually meant the real tragedy was his child abuse and the absolute failure of the US justice system.

Now that is funny

why thank you mister Guy, but im serious about the escape routes, attack techniques and weapons. although they wernt stored/planned for a zombie invasion they could be slightly modified to be of use in that situation. they are actually precautions against tshtf.

?
The child admitted it was a scam.
The justice system couldn't prosecute him with false charges.

If you are not an MJ fan then let's face it - nothing about the memorial arrangements would have pleased you. You would have been happiest if they didn't have one at all.

I don't believe the child abuse allegations - never did. I don't think the majority of people did: otherwise, his memorial would not have been well attended, would not have been televised.

The general public are pretty cruel when it comes to celebrities. If the general consensus was that he did it, MJ would have been a front pager and a private funeral. Nothing more.

I'm not dismissing your right to POV - I respect that you feel that way - that many do. All I'm saying is that clearly, most disagree with you.

I dont think the majority of his fans did. Those who dont love him for his music are open to the idea he's not a saint. People can see whatever they like and i don't particularly care if anyone else thinks he was guilty or not. I really can't be doing with this conversation because we may never have proof one way or the other.

Okay. That's not what you said in a couple of your earlier posts.

If you want to back down from that that's fine, but I do respect your POV here.

Haha well maybe i'm done with arguing. I don't mind what people want to believe. And its not that there isnt proof but everyone has their own truth and who am i to say that I'm more right than anyone else?

I'm sorry that you see this thread as an argument, rather than as an exchange of ideas.

I welcome your POV here. There may be things we disagree on, but I'd be keen to understand why you feel the way you feel.

if you are all done then thanks for contributing.

Well, argue, exchange of ideas... its all the same isn't it?

And my reasoning is his fans will never accept my POV as it discolours their hero and i won't ever accept theirs because i just... really think i'm right. Thats a crap excuse isn't it?

What was this thread originally about?

that is so true. IMO the universe or "reality" is consisted of what we belive it is. its just that if enough people disbelieve something it doesnt exist because it got cancelled out. if people were more flexible with there beliefs and what they thought was possible then the world would be much more interesting.

Interesting. So maybe we're only constriced by what we believe our limitations to be and not what they actually are?
