Why do people vote? TO get the government to act. Its there job TO DO somthing so that people ARE NOT abused in the first place! Lol
Its THEIR fault for letting ANYONE take these jobs.
Solution?
Increase the pay for a start for the dedicated carers and enforce training for even the basic of carers. You cant just walk into a job as a carer looking after human lives with no training, its ridiculous....Mcdonalds workers get more training for sweeping the floor.

Training is given for a HCA. It's not a desirable job tbh, it doesn't require qualifications or previous training (you get trained on the job) because as an HCA you're generally a glorified arse wiper especially with old people. You bathe them, change them and feed them.

The appropriate checks are carried out but within a care environment there is a chance of abuse. I'm not justifying it happening but no matter what you do you'll never stop it completely if the appropriate checks/vetting process has been seen through.

You can't realisitcally increase the pay as generally HCA's are either NHS staff or BUPA and there is a limited amount of money for the people at the bottom.

They could increase the pay for carers if for example they werent giving this child abusing women 5 star luxury in prison...But thats another story!

What?

Are you saying she abused the kids so she'd get a better life in prison?

very apt wording there....

Theres PLENTY of money at the top though! if my aunt and uncle were to have been put into a home it would have cost them ?1100 a WEEK!!!

Wish I had enough money to start a home

What i meant is that the law has it all wrong to start with. They put money into prisons taking Rose West out every week for her little horseriding lessons, giving them satelite tv, blah blah blah, when the governments should really be injecting money where it belongs...To dedicated good workers in the nursing profession for example.

I was talking more in the respect of an NHS home (there are some around believe it or not) and people like the resident doctors/nurses being paid more but you're right people who own the private home set the wages.

I'm sick of people acting like prison is a hotel. They forget that it's still depriving people of their freedom. It's still a punishment and they're not as soft as the tabloids make them out to be. They may not be as tough here as they are over in the States but guess what - we have lower prison incarceration rates, lower crime rates and lower homicide figures than they do. People assume that the primary role of a prison is to be a harsh punishment but it also serves to rehabilitate and finally, women are harsher on those accused or convicted of child abuse than men are.

The best thing to do when nursing is to go through an agency. Money is better and no one starts before they have been checked out thoroughly through the police and previous employers.

Well the agency's I have worked for did. I would never work for the NHS again.
