Well, PETA cares, apparently and they care a lot. They've actually accused people who buy puppies from breeders of murdering dogs that live in the pound. They think everyone should adopt puppies instead of buying them. Their logic is that for every puppy someone buys, one gets put down at a pound somewhere...

But seriously I agree with the OP. I don't know why anyone should care about what people do in the privacy of their own homes. If they choose to buy a puppy, that's their business.

its not registered breeders problems that there is a overpopulation it is the puppy mills and home breeders that are creating a problem.

She was an easy target really, for people with their own agenda.
Rubylights is right, PETA have a huge axe to grind on this issue but it is 'puppy-pounds' that really get their knickers in a twist, mass breeding of puppies to sell to pet stores. Most private dog breeders treat their animals extremely well.
Death threats? Crazy.....

Who cares what PETA thinks? They're little more than a domestic terrorism organization. They should be ignored completely, full stop.

PETA do a lot of good; awareness of the importance for us to treat animals humanely is not a bad thing. The problem is that they so often get their facts wrong & justify it in the name of animal rights.

I've lost count of how many times PETA have falsely accused organisations of testing their products on animals. A lot of people listen to what PETA say & that's unfortunate. Yes, animals have rights, but organisations also have a legal right not to be slandered & lose profits as a result.

It's astonishing what PETA get away with actually.

I agree. I think thats the point the OP was trying to make too. They shouldnt have a say in what ppl do or what puppies they can bring home or whatever. its no one's business.

It's true we need rules and laws, as sad as it is, for people not to abuse animals. However, PETA has truly overstepped their boundaries. They put that dog breeder through living hell by dragging her through the mud publicly and legally plus the added death threats was just absurd. That was precious time they stole from that women in my opinion.

I wonder if PETA could have been sued in Civil Court for her attorney fees and damages.

Nope , but the State that was responsible for sending the Dog Wardens round should have been, in the light of ALL the citatins being dropped.
Probably employed Lawyers that were PETAheads in their personals lives for them NOT to have brought that particular issue to task judiciously
