Michael Moore has made some controversial documentaries including Bowling for Columbine (worth seeing if you haven't yet).
Michael Moore considers himself the investigator of truth and has been openly opposed to the Bush administration.

I'm a fan of Moore's; I think he's brave and passionate about exposing the truth to the American people. I heard that he responds to every email people send to his website personally.

There are also hundreds of anti-Moore sites, claiming he doctors his stats, lies about his claims and has as agenda of his own.

What say you?

His films are entertaining, if having a somewhat loose standard for truthiness.

When you mention this loose standard for 'truthiness' can you give an example?
To be honest, Moore presents so many facts that I'm amazed anyone could or would fact check them all. I'm not saying he shouldn't be scrutinised, but he seems pretty damn thorough to me.

Well, I've heard his film "Roger & Me" presented things out of sequence to make GM look worse than they would have otherwise.

Probably has good intentions..
But he's a bit forced, and so incredibly one sided in his views that he bothers me.

I agree with the "truthiness" comment. Though I would call it "political infotainment"

He appears to be quite virulent in defense of his causes. He picks and chooses as he winds his way through the facts to come up with a doctored brand of truth. He sees only what he sets out to see. He is obviously not using a scientific method to investigate his causes, rather the blindness of personal bias keeps his work one-sided and shallow and usually harmful where harm has been intended. I can't even take him with a grain of salt! bybee

I used to think he was brilliant and brave but then I read that he tends to sensationalise a lot. I think if a journalist wants to tell the truth, they should tell only the truth even if its quite boring truth and they should always give both sides and allow the reader/viewer to come to their own conclusions.
