Questions.

It's close to Christmas and I might have enough to buy an iMac G3 from MegaMacs.com

The one I'm looking at has a 450MHz G3 Processor in it, and 128 MB SDRAM.

What I want to know is

1) What is the highest processor upgrade that can be done on it (e.g. G4 or G5)

2) What is the maximum memory it can hold.

Mostly, I want it to run Leopard if that tells you anything.

Na, really?

That's why I specified G3.

Or were you simply putting emphasis on the fact?

Oh well, it will run Tiger.

I think I'm going to look some more, though.

Ok, does anyone know if the G4 in a Power Mac G4 is soldered?

If not, where can I get a new G4 to put in one that originally has a 350 GHz G4 Processor, and will it handle a G5?

There were two G3's

The first was a tray load, the second, slot load

Also, Firewire wasn't added until later in the lifecycle.

The G3 I was talking about is from 2001.

Now I'm having problems. I'm looking at a Power Mac G4, model M5183, however, according to Apple, the computer does not exist.

What is up?
