i was working with an 8 yr old boy who, at first was kind of apprehensive about his medical exam..After only a few minutes of working with him, he relaxed, and became quite comfortable..his mom was sitting not too far from us..i complimented him on being so "fit" considering the obese children i'm seeing these days..
The kid thought about it, and said quite nonchalantly...
"You know? my mom always calls me skinny"..he sighed, after a few seconds he looks dead at his mother and says.."but when dad's not around, she calls him fat!"
I was walking to my car, when a woman waved me down in the parking lot..i walked over to her, and clearly saw she in distress..She had three boys with her, the eldest being about 10 yrs. old..She explained she had locked herself out of her car, with the engine running, and had been waiting a long time for AAA to show up.
We both had Honda's and she asked if i could try my key in the door lock, since this seemed to work for her before...with a sage look, the 10 yr. old put his hand on his hip and said "It's the the 3rd time she's done it this week..."
