For all those that are not Obama supports...I keep seeing the "socialism" "nazi" words being thrown around. seriously?

We've had democratic presidents in the past, America didn't die, so why so overly outraged now? The only difference is that this guy is black.

I mean we just went through 8 years of crap...time for a change we went to democrat...nothing we haven't experienced before...

Everyone is jumping on Obama's tax, education, and health-care plans. First of, do remember that the president is only as strong as congress.

In both Obama's and McCains tax plans, most of their polices are not to take effect for another 10 years. The part that will affect us now is taxing those in 250,000 higher tax bracket while giving tax cuts to those 100,000 and less. Higher people will get a tax break too but not as much.

Education...all he is doing is providing incentives whether tax wise or otherwise to draw people and KEEP people in school.

Healthcare...come on all democrats are for "world-wide" health care. There have been plenty of democrats in office who have wanted it for years. Hilliary wanted to mandate health care, and that word "mandate" has been thrown around for years. McCain's plan would increase premiums regardless of intra-state competition.

I just don't know...

We've had them before, and that's why I'm not too fond of the idea of having one with a liberal congress as well.

seriously... everyone is like "GREAT now our country is going to be screwed!"
this isn't the first time Bush hasn't been our president... people need to calm down.
HE HASN'T EVEN BEEN INAGURATED YET! jump the gun much?
all decisions made in office take such a long time because they go through the cabinet and everything else... it's not like everything thing is going to change dramatically and next week we're gonna be f***in China... jesus!
god forbid... he MIGHT do something good.... oh no... no one but bush can better this country... of course not...

Well, for the past 8 years Republicans in general and Bush specifically have been blamed for every single problem or annoyance in the U.S.

Now that Obama is the president elect and the dems control the congress they get to be blamed for every little thing for at least the next 4 years. Enjoy the the time in the spotlight.

I know. He's just like any Democrat! If you compare his plans and Hillary Clinton's, they are identical, yet nobody calls her a socialist.

we should just be happy that it was a successful elections, which we can't say for other countries who can't even exercise their right to vote.

I love the way Americans use the word socialist as if the government are gonna take away ur money and replace it with rations.. My opinion is that a socialised health care system is the ONLY altruistic and morally correct way to be, the very thought of fatcat health companies rufusing people as a bad business move in fundementally wrong. Health shouldnt be a business it should be a right of the modern world. Here in the UK we have the NHS its socialised but I dont pay for any medication and if I needed it sooner I always have the choice of paying for it privately like with BUPA. Chill out on the Socialism, America and the American Dream has made the U.S. into a race of individualist capitalists while in the UK the NHS was introduced after WW2 when we as a country had a great sense of unity which prompted the NHS..

people just keep making such a big deal about having a Democratic president. what's worse, they make a bigger deal because of the color of his UV/organs/muscle protector, also know as skin. people just need to calm the f*** down and hope for the best. i respect the man, thus having faith that this country will head for the right direction this time now that bush'll be kicked outta office.

I agree. People are acting like fools about this. He is our new President and, yes, he is black (or half black as some point out). I don't see the problem.

The colors of this country are Red, White and Blue...not Black and White!

I have no respect for people that don't like him because of the color of his skin...what the hell does THAT have to do with anything?

I was not really for either candidate but I did like some of what both had to offer. I sure as hell did not like McCain's idea to basically tax my health insurance benefits as income so others could get a $5000 tax credit to buy insurance! (Maybe I didn't fully understand either...but it's a moot point now.)

I have heard some of the most rediculous things since he won from both black and white people...and I just shake my head.

No, I didn't vote for him, but, he is MY President now and he has my FULL support.

In the end, we are all AMERICANS and we should act like it and stop making fools of ourselves. It's embarrassing, really!
