Not a bad album at all.

Best track: All Nightmare Long, definately.

Not really been into Metallica before but i'm finding them to be rather good.

Replies, etc...

Sounds like some cover band trying to sound like Metallica.

It's uninspired and insipid. Sounds like a bunch of old guys trying to assure us that they still rock. But they don't. It's very adolescent without any of the vigor and aggression of their older stuff.

Kurt feels the same and he was a die hard Metallica fan back in the day. The man can play any the guitar for any Metallica song...but this latest is just sad. Poorly produced.

Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets are among my favorite albums ever.

I'm in the minority because I'm a die hard fan of the old Metallica stuff, but I also like the black album quite a bit. Yes, it marked the beginning of the end, but that album itself found a really excellent sweet spot that really resonated with me for whatever reason.

Load had a couple of OK songs, but that was really the end of it. Nothing they've done since has been worth listening to.

What the f*** kind of band produces a sequel for a song? And then another sequel for the sequel, anyway?

i was impressed.
but its still pretty bad

being slightly better than st. anger is an accomplishment not deserving of much merit.
they've lost it and its not coming back.

I don't think I'm even going to listen to it. Everything that they've come up with in the last God knows how long has sucked some serious balls.

i thought it was a pretty awesome, not by st anger standards but by MoP standards.
"all nightare long" has to be my favourite although the more i listen to "the day that never comes" the more i like it, which oddly is how i felt about "one"

of course the mastering is a issue, but not a major one really.
but i think some people are stuck in the mentality of old metallica = good, new metallica = bad.
which is a shame.
