Obama is not open to some rational solutions to our foreign oil dependency. In the last five years we've all seen the growing "cash your check till payday", stores popping up all over. I believe this is indicative that many folks are living payday to payday. Five years ago gas was below $2.00 a gallon. These people are even more financially strapped with todays gas prices. I'm a liberal person on social matters. However, anybody standing in the way of any solution to this growing problem has excluded themselves from my support. Our fellow Americans are suffering and we should use every resource at our disposal to alleviate their misery. We should be putting up wind farms, building refineries and nuclear power plants. We should also be drilling like a gigolo. I'm for exploring alternate sources of energy and any other realistic solution. This is not the time to have our nations energy policy dictated by the radical fringe of environment wackos. We could make a mistake in November that this country may never recover from. VOTE SMART!

I ain't voting for him this november thats for sure. You can blame our current president Bush to getting us in this situation in the first place. Thanks to the X Files movie Bush is an alien. The X Files Theme song was playing when they showed a picture of him in the movie!!

Blame Bush, it's more like we are seeing the effects of the Clinton administration. Policies that were set into action and issues that were ignored during the Clinton regime are now being seen. If Obama were to fool enough people with his lies and get in we will surely see the effects of his screwups in 8 to 12 years also. We would likely see the social effects immediately

I don't give s*** if gas goes to $20.00 a gallon, me and Scoob can afford it. Lot's of folks aren't as lucky. Bush has no control over the oil cartel, that's a rediculious conclusion. We're sending 700 billion a year to radicals who want to see us all dead because we're dependent on their oil. Wake up, stop allowing the media to control your thinking. Explain to me where I'm wrong.

I think Bush is a disgrace. I wouldn't let him balance my checking account. I also know that an Obama presidency will tie our hands in too many ways on reducing our dependancy on foreign oil. If he would change his posture on that, I would vote for him. He won't and I won't, it's too important for people to dismiss.

If Martians attacked, you should obviously be calling the shots regardless of who's the president

Obama is a fake. He is inexperienced. His talk is cheap..."change" & "hope"....but no real details.

At best he will be another Jimmy Carter...a failure as a president, perhaps successful as a former president.

Why puncuate your first sentence with a question mark? The remainder of your sentiments sound as if we agree.

I was re-stating the orignial topic "title" for perspective.

I do that frequently on TFS so people know that I am refering to the original topic, not the most recent tangent (many postings go off topic).

Look, I walk in lockstep with no political party. However, I'm smart enough to recognize an unreasonable stance at first sight. So many Americans are guided by idealogical misinformation that it puts all of our expected lifestyles in jeopardy. We should be doing everything imaginable to reduce our dependance on foreign oil NOW.
