And have Georgia tax payers pay for a murderer to live in prison until he dies?

How come no one has any emotion toward the victim in murder cases? An innocent woman is DEAD b/c she was African American. She had her life taken from her b/c of her race. And her murder left her child motherless.

Any idea how it feels to lose a parent?? Any of you??

No - I don't. But my parents brought me up anti death penalty. If one of them was killed, they wouldn't want the person who killed them dead, and I respect that.

Why?
I kinda agree with you though. It'd pull the entire race card out of the equation.

Because hate crimes are thought crimes. I don't believe thoughts should be criminalized.

the death penalty costs *more* than life in prison.

Not if we cut out the lethal injection bulls*** and go back to the good old times: Hanging

Idk what to tell you. You don't really know how you'd feel until it happens to you.

Like, I know it sounds bad, but I haven't gotten to a place in my life where I'm ready to totally forgive him.

Somehow, my mom has gotten there, Idk how though.

I just hate the idea of having my tax money going to feed and clothe the guy who murdered someone I loved.
Not only that, but he was connected to three other murders that he's awaiting trial for. Perhaps he'll get the death penalty on one of those three cases. Who knows. MD tends to beat around that particular bush. That's why I like West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

The death penalty ... no matter what the crime ... is unacceptable ... it does not punish and it does not deter.

The rest of your natural life imprisoned is by far a more punishing sentance than death.

Hate crime or not ... lock them up and throw away the key!

opps...wait... the cost of the death penalty is so high, because the cost of the court case is so high.

Well think about this. Timothy McVay bombed a toddler day care center. What if you child was one of the many children that died in that building?

s***, I'd try to kill him myself.

The court did a great thing putting him to death for the many lives that were taken.

An eye for an eye.

That's lousy. The entire judiciary system is f***ed up...
We should still go back to the good ol' days.

Ancient Rome, didn't have any prisons

You shouldn't have said 'an eye for an eye'
at least not here on tfs

I'm thinking the death penalty is a good thing,
A hate crime is a pretty bad thing, but killing someone cause
of their skin color, isn't any worse then killing someone for their money.

Does anyone think his son or the parents of the murdered daughter-in-law should have some input, at least their opinions, on the man's fate? I think they should. To me, the murder offense was also committed against them - since they lost a loved one.

No, absolutely not. The victims are not impartial and should never have any input into the process.

There's a reason the trial is conducted, mediated, and decided by people who are chosen specifically to be totally impartial.

Incorrect.

It's not the procedure that's expensive.
