Recently I've been outside doing active things, like bike riding, running, softball etc etc. and it's made me realise just how lazy i was before...
so In as part of my "help lesley keep fit" scheme, what do you do to keep fit? Or if you're lazy, like I was, what are your reasons for being so?

last week my town had a 10k charity run, It was good fun and I felt good afterwards, I just think they should organise more things liek that instead of being a one off.

Actually I just started training for a half marathon today, and while I was out running some guy who was getting in his car said "I should be more like you man." I played it off and told him he should aim higher, which he should, but it was still nice to hear.

I use to be in excellent shape. I was in the Army and kickboxed and practiced other martial arts so I pretty much had to be. But about 2.5 years ago I messed my back up really bad and have only recently got back into training like I use to. Let me tell ya, it's about 1,000,000 times easier to stay in shape than it is to get in shape.

Over the summer I ran a few miles every other morning, and on days that I didn't run I would do 200-300 crunches. I also swam, played basketball, and went rollerblading.

Now that school has started I don't have the time or energy to get up at 5:30 in the morning and go running at 6, but I do get plenty of exercise walking. I would say I walk probably anywhere between two to three miles every day. I keep the crunches going too.

That's really cool glitter. The only thing I ever do that's active is hiking. I definitely need to be more active. I think it would be fun to take some dance lessons or something. My friend told me that if I don't learn how to be active now, that by the time I'm 26 my metabolism will be down the toilet.
My reason for being lazy is that everything I do during the day is a sit down activity, like writing, drawing, and playing the piano.

@steel Said
I weight train 3 days a week, on the other days I practice martial arts and do some heavy bag work along with some body weight excercises(push-ups, chin-ups, pull-ups, crunches, squats, etc.) I'm up to 33 chin-ups now, alright and sometimes I run or jog, and since I've been in Shotokan for 4 years and I'm going up for my brown belt soon, it pays for me to stay in shape, I also want to fight in the UFC one day, it may sound crazy now but I'll be getting the last laugh once I'm there.

That's really cool steel. You're young and now is the time to lay the foundation. You might want to get some ground training though, as shotokan is primarily stand up. Keep up the running to. They say it's easier to fight a great fighter in good shape than to fight a good fighter in great shape.
