I only just caught this on the news and am looking for it online, but so far no luck. Unfortunately, I was on the phone at the time, so I didn't get all the details.

I think he's also facing the death penalty, and naturally there has been international condemnation of his sentence.

I think this is just as stupid as that poor woman who named a bear Mohammed.

As soon as I get the link, I'll post it, unless someone can beat me to it

its pathetic really, its getting to the point that islamic radicals can do whatever they want to anyone. its no wonder people are getting to the point of being scared of saying anything. i know alot of muslims that would condemn whats going on but as normal its the majority that gets the brunt for the minority

Obviously there is.

"A 23-year-old student journalist in Afghanistan has been sentenced to death for downloading and distributing a report that is critical of the oppressive treatment of women in some Islamic societies."

However, the sentence appears to have been suspended.

"In a dramatic volte-face, the Afghan Senate has withdrawn its confirmation of a death sentence on Sayed Pervez Kambaksh, the student convicted of blasphemy for downloading a report on women's rights from the internet."

It's important to note that after he downloaded the article, he distributed it to fellow students and teachers.

well islams one of the biggest religions in the world, the amount of muslims that would condemn this rather than support it is quite large
