I've just received an unsolicited "Hi, let's talk." e-mail from somebody I've never heard of, and my natural instincts (which seldom let me down) tell me to be wary - very wary indeed! My advice to anybody who receives this type of e-mail is DO NOT RESPOND . Remember, anybody can call themselves anything they like, and when you receive a nudge, nudge, wink, wink e-mail as an opener I'd be inclined to be guarded in the extreme! What would the next e-mail say? "I need to put some money into an account, can I have your sort code?"
Has anybody else out there received unsolicited e-mails like this, and am I right to steer well clear of them?

Ditto on scam. If you don't recognize the email, then mark it as spam. I say that and probably have ignored random hotties hitting on me over the years. Hmmm.

This is a wind up right?

Either that, or this is first time you've been on the internet.

No, it's not a wind up. I've had junk mail through the post, but I don't get it too much on my computer. It stands out a mile though that all they want are your personal details. In my case, if she wants to clear a ?1200 overdraft I'd be tempted to give her my details

NEVER open emails if you have no idea who its from.

example: My son who lives here had an email sent by his brother, it said, 'look at me now'------------he clicked on the link......his computer completely crashed, it was never his brother, someone tapped in, and yeah, it was his own brothers email address!

be very careful!
