How do you guys/gals feel about the VP saying if the democrats are elected we will be unsafe? Personally i feel that he made an attack on half of our country. Whatever will we do if bush gets reelected and in four years he has to leave office. Will we be safe after bush is gone.

Problem with the Bush administration is that they really believe in getting rid of terrorism by killing this and that person. All they are doing is generating sympathy for the terrorists. The terrorists we are at war with today are different from the ones of the past. These people, whether we like to admit it or not, believe they are fighting for a just cause. All this "they hate our freedom" rhetoric we hear from this administration is completely ridiculous. They could careless of our freedom. They've said it themselves.

These extremists use religion as a way of gaining more recruits. Their message towards other Muslims is:

"We are being occupied and killed by foriegn troops. It is your duty to help you brother in this struggle(or jihad)."

Nothing in the Middle East is taken more seriously than religion. Which is why they use it. But the claim that religion is the cause of this is baseless. It's not about killing everyone besides those who follow your religion. This is political.

Anyway, are we safer with Bush or Kerry? I don't think it makes a major difference. Both will try thier best to defend this country(domestically)

But will we continue to live in fear if Bush remains in office? Most Definitely. I hope this all made sense to you all.

I have to disagree.

I think Bush is the only guy with enough guts to face the terrorist threat, whereas everyone else is too occupied trying to maintain warm fuzzies to put up a real fight. Sorry guys, but the terrorists will whip the Kerry Administration like a schoolgirl who won't lift a finger until the U.N. "gives permission". No way. I want a leader leading this country, not a yes-man.

And I have to agree with Bush's comment. The Democratic Party can't even get along with itself, much less anyone else. I don't want the chaos occuring within it's own party invading the Oval Office. We even see Democrats lamenting the former days of the Party's strength. They're too politically and partisanship-driven, and that will mean chaotic times for our country if Kerry wins, I fear. I admire the man's love for his country, but I just think he lacks a stiff enough backbone. And seeing is how so many Democrats seem to hate anyone who's not also a Democrat (so my experience has taught me time and time and time again personally -- "You're not like me, you inferior unenlightened twit"), there's no way I'm supporting one. Heck, the last time I voted for a Democrat, the guy directly betrayed me. I've never had anyone of any other party do that, but they do time and time again. Self-serving, greedy, and blinded -- we are fortunate to have at least some remnants left who I see as the only hope left for the party, people like jeoin here on this board and a few other select politicians who seem to be in the minority.

Personally, I'm tired of snobby Democrats looking down their high and mighty, million-dollar pampered noses at me. No way I'm supporting that.

My thoughts...

WASHINGTON - Secretary of State Colin Powell ruled out the introduction of U.S. troops in the beleagured Darfur region of Sudan, saying the United States would pursue a strategy of pressuring the Sudanese government ?very hard? in the U.N. Security Council to end the campaign of violence.

we listen to the UN sometimes. I think if there was oil in sudan bush would be there as well. To bad its just people. Real human lives. Hey look at america we saved a group of people who were fed and had power but suffered under a brutal dictator and future slayer of america, but we just let the genocide and real-time murder of innocents in Sudan continue. One of the things that bush points out about Saddam is the mass graves. Well Mr. President big graves like that are being dug in sudan as we write.

Who shall we PreEmpt next? Iran or NKorea? Or china or greenland? Will our soldiers get overtime pay for the extra duty, and will they be forced to stay longer than was in their contract. Will national guard family members finally get healthcare that is equivalent to the active duty soldiers in the same war. Who cares? its just a nasty bitter democrat left wing thing.

When 9/11 occured we all rallied behind the president. Everyone. I feel he abused that cohesion when he went after saddam with no connection ever found between him and the terrorist that bombed our country. So now it is okay as long as bush is President we will be safe. So we all need to run out and elect him or else The democrats will fail and america will end.

Panetti, I?m baffled that Bush has gotten as much support as he has in this coming election. The undisputed facts are piled against him yet people such as yourself are die-hard supporters. I don?t understand it.

You defend him with statements like, ?The Democratic Party can?t even get along with itself? and ?They?re too politically and partisanship-driven?, and ?[Kerry] lacks a stiff enough backbone.?

I don?t get it! Lets assume the DEM party can?t ?get along with itself? and that they are ?too politically and partisanship-driven.? Fine, there are a couple of bad things that could make for a difficult four years. Maybe a few cases can be found were Kerry changed his mind on an issue in a short time (flip-flop), and the fact that he wasn?t present to vote on many issues sure looks bad. Fare enough.

But when you look at the evil that Bush has caused. If you look at nothing else, look at the fact that based on whatever info, he alienated the international community, sent us to war with people who didn?t threaten us and has cost us countless wounded and over 1000 lives and in the process has stirred up a people with nothing to lose and our kids will be experiencing the repercussions.

That should be enough to say that the commander and chief is not fit. But somehow Republicans can find it in their heart of hearts to forgive that because, hmmm? he had bad intelligence. I?m sure Clinton would have gotten away with that excuse.

Bush never caught Osama, and he never put the blame of 9/11 on the Saudis who were 15 of the 19 hijackers and were the ones funding them. He has almost doubled the deficit. He and his administration have been proven to have investments in companies that are benefiting from the contract work being done in Iraq. His campaign has grossly attacked veterans and dishonored soldiers with purple hearts just to get at Kerry. His campaign has no substance, he says he will cut taxes in a time of recession and then spouted several outrageous programs he would start that he couldn?t possibly afford.

Wait, I know this is tiring and has been gone over time and time again, but not by me. There is plenty more. If these facts bore you skip to the bottom.

Bush has cut overtime for many people, and for what? Who is he representing if he cuts overtime?

People say they feel safer with Bush in office. Kerry has been in war. Kerry has carried a weapon and fought in a war. Kerry left college to go and fight for his country, save people?s lives which few of us ever do (actually pull a man to safety while being shot at), and came back to protest the war. Bush joined the National Guard and dodged combat (flew fighter planes over Texas), and even didn?t fulfill his obligations there. Chaney deferred 5 times: 3 times for undergrad school, 1 time for grad school, and 1 time for a sick wife in the hospital. You want Bush and Chaney leading our troops when they shirked their responsibility when there country called. You feel safer with that?

Most of the hardcore republicans could not care less about the issues I?ve just stated. Most seem to focus on abortion, gay-marriage, Christian values, and keeping their guns. Let me tell you this, I believe in the stances of the republican party and would love to get an honorable republican in the president?s office, but the people running that party today are only out for themselves. They put out crazy bills in the election year, knowing the liberal judges will shoot them down, simply to trick people in to believing they are representing the ?Christians.? If Bush wins again, nothing will change with respect to abortion, gay-marriage, and certainly not "Christian" values. You will, however, probably get to keep your guns.

You can say that this is a conspiracy theory, but calling it a theory is a stretch considering the things they (Bush Admin) have done have been in the public eye and no one seems to care.

I believe Bush will win again. Some how, he will find a way to win at any cost. I'm baffled that you would support him.

too many talks of late with my fellow international folk have led us to a solution. Americans, the forty-whatever percent of you that were going to vote this time out anyway, we, the rest of the world are going to take care of this election for you.

And we're picking Kerry.

Unf***ed by the opinions of "newsmen" Ted Turner and Rupert Murdoch, we know what's up here and while it would be fine and good to have another four years of that Texan dips*** around, it's just better for us if Kerry takes this one. Laughing stock of the international community though you have been, you're making us less safe with this Bush character and his dad's friends in charge, and we'd thank you to just let us take care of it...

Personally, I'm fed up with both of 'em. Seems like we only have elections that are full of lies and slander from both sides, and never-mind the fact that everyone's unemployed. When they find a job it's at McD's or Wal-mart instead of the 80,000 a year they had before--yet both say that unemployment's on a decline. I think we should pass a law that the President, Congress and the rest in DC should have to live on minimum wage in government funded housing for at least half their term, each and every term they serve. Maybe if they came down to our level they'd fix some of this crap! Till then I think we may as well elect Bart Simpson as a write-in. There's not a lot of difference in the three of them, and at least we won't have to worry about Bart having a heart attack or something!

brandonmcdonald you disgust me you peice of......... calm.......calm......calm now.... . . . O.k. 40% vote because of several reasons and I'm note going to pretend I understand them but it's their right to vote if they want to. Not that you can fully understand or appreciate that but I just thought that I'd run that by. Oh and If the U.S. were half as cruel as some make us out to be.....YOU'D BE DEAD......Something to do about a secret police or something like that. And naturaly it's o.k. for YOU if Kerry takes the throne of evil because you and whoever else is scared sh#tless by that Texan and his BIG BRASS BALLS. Not that Kerry doesn't have any. Any term as a VETERAN in any war merits some respect. I just don't think he is as qualified as the current president in keeping the rest of the world awake at night as President Bush. Hi all....I'm back.......kinda.

a false presentation will not alter the fact that our president is a draft dodger, who is taking advantage of our troops by forcing them to stay past their terms. I guess every member of the national guard and reserves that is in Iraq should do just like bush did and leave.

Riiiiiiiiight!!!! Nevermind that Clinton was an actual draft dodger and had to be pardoned by the current pres. (thank you J.C.) and that Kerry pissed out and left the service after a few scratches.

And after hearing from all those people in the military over Bush while he was in the guard, That he WASN'T AWOL, you still think that he was AWOL. Seems like you just want to hate Bush regardless of what the facts are.

The personal attack notwithstanding, the state of affairs when 50 some-odd percentage of an entire country, one which touts its "Freeeeeeedom" and so on and so forth as readily as the United States has a crisis of democracy on its hands. What can you expect, really, when the money spent on education and the sharing of information in the country is less than that spent on disproving the evidence about global warming. As for what I may or may not understand... I get it. If I were an American, I'd have a horrible time trying to tell myself that Kerry is the man. He's not the man, but by a process of elimination, he'd be who I had to vote for, and then, despite the fact that "My Guy" is in charge, I'd still have to watch him - because of his big, nice, fat corporate ties - f*** me and mine, not to mention countless others around the globe, to appease his more generous campaign contributors.

As for this, go pick up a book and find out what your country has been doing in your name and with your dollars. From "Saving France" from the Nazis - after Pearl Harbour and some 8 million dead Jews - to shaking hands with the president of Indonesia while he committed genocide upon an entire race of people (oh, but their colony was sitting on gas...), to staging a coup to relieve a democratically elected Iranian president in the sixties to install a puppet leader sitting in Sam's pocket, the list goes on. "If the US were half as cruel as some make us out to be..." it still wouldn't even be close to the stuff that sits in sealed vaults all over Washington.

Ahh, that one day my balls might be so brass that I might stand on an aircraft carrier beneath a banner reading "Mission Accomplished" even though more than 1000 Americans were due to die and conflict was about to escalate under said Mission. That one day I might let the formally most respected man in Washington walk into the United Nations with a vial of sugar to plead to the world the evils of a certain person who was in no position to possess anything that might have been implied by said sugar. That I might be able to stand before the people of my country, the deficit breaking records, patriots dying in record numbers and an entire region uniting against my country Because Of Me (!) and my earstwhile assistants' moneyhungry plan for global domination (https://www.newamericancentury.org/) and that I might say, standing there that to criticise me during this time is "unpatriotic," or "unnamerican" and that I might further go on to say that we are doing a fine job, a fine, fine job, and that we should all go buy Hummers is a dream at best.

Lord, that I never have balls so brass....

Thats funny! It's funny in that private companies spend money on disproving Global Warming and not the government. See we are not a socially based form of government. We're capitalists. As far as the school systems are concerned yes they are horrible. But your friend Ted Kennedy wrote the current legilation on the current school system.

As far as my name goes I have had an ancestor in every war since WW2. Liberating France from the Nazi's was fun and all, but those Jews were really a sight. I would think that someone who has picked up a book would eventually notice that the jews were being murdered and quickly. Mass graves, furnaces where some were burned alive, medical and spiritual experiments were performed. Bags of skin and bone starved and made to work as slaves. America will do what is in the best interest of America. Sorry Bud but Iran has never had a democratically elected official of any kind. And yes I know all about the coup and if things keep up, there may be one over our northern border naw just kidding. No threat there.

Well at least you admire President Bush.
As for that said mission, yes it was accomplished. The mission, in Iraq was to remove Saddam Hussain as a dictator and his regime. A year after war was declared we achieved that very goal.

Patiots! But you said that they were victims. They are indeed patriots. The only victims in this war so far have been the Iraqi patriots that have died in their wish for a better Iraq which WE under President Bush have handed them. Turbulent so far yes, but so was my countries beginning. Fist to fight the war for independence then to fail at the first attempt at self governing ourselves and then to nearly be erradicated by the British a second time. Then to present day to be the most hated and feared nation in the world. Canada has never felt so much pain. Nor could it survive so much pain.

An Unpatriotic and Unamerican person would be a person who rather than do anything for or in his country, runs to Canada. I don't know if you've noticed but cricizim of our president is a welcome and honorable conflict in our country.

Quote:

Well said! It's not befitting for a Canadian to do something right or to the benefit of another country like liberate multiple billions of people worldwide or send aid to countries in need regardlees of the loss of money and life in his home country. Oh and lets not forget the offer of education to foreign people's.
