Frasier is the ultimate sitcom, as broadcast by Channel4 TV here tonight. Fawlty Towers is placed at number 2. I have great affection for the cast of Frasier, a programme I never watched before, until my American wife introduced me to the show and to Becker also, which is great. The brilliant Fawlty Towers is a catalogue of just 12 episodes, apparently Cleese and then-wife Connie Booth spent 3 months perfecting the script for each episode.
What would be your personal "ultimate" sitcom, people?
Happy ... er ... voting.

Tony.

What a load of rubbish it should have been faulty towers.. i mean come on th shows amazing and having only 12 eps made it even better.
It's so much better than them other sitcoms that go on forever and you just get bored of them & plus John Cleese & Connie Boot worked 3 months for each episode and that should have been rewarded.

The shows amazing.. end of!

Well it would have been Fawlty Towers, but Frasier just pipped it. I`m into Saxondale now, the ex-band roadie turned pest controller. Steve Coogan puts on a better Brummie accent than the Brummies (Birmingham) themselves! I should be able to judge, as coming from Wolverhampton, my accent too is classed as the same. It was nice to see Ronnie Barker`s "Porridge" come in 3rd in that poll, too. "Extras" is another class sit-com too, with Ricky Gervais.
Yours,
Tony.

Should have been either Fawlty Towers or Blackadder. Glad Red Dwraf was there too. On Frasier, i'm not convinced. I tended to find the first half of each episode funny, but the second half made me cringe. That i didn't enjoy.

I`m thinking Frasier got it on its sheer longevity (10 years), and also considering it was a spin-off from "Friends". Maybe?
I find the cast quite lovable, right down to Eddie the dog. And Niles cracks me up usually, very Fawltyish, he is!

I love Frasier. I never used to watch it, but about a year ago I thought I'd give it a look-see and I really liked it. I'm always watching it>

Oh yeh, "Cheers" that was the one! Shows how long I`ve been watching Frasier, eh! What a twit - and not "upper-class" either.
The name? Well I`ve answered easier questions, I must admit.

OK, I`ll browse yer!
Glad for you Gunners fans that Arsene signed a 3 year contract, by the way, looks like Cesc is going to flower following Thierry`s departure, too.
My usernamesake brought a decided freshness to the post of Prime Minister, I felt, and I believe he was one for carefully considering all the big decisions he was forced to make during his tenure.

Don't brows me, i'd be embarassed! Don't want to derail the thread, so i'll just agree that he certainly didn't do what he did to win votes, so he at least had the right motives.

cant believe Arsene stayed (and shouldn't cant have an apostrophe?), Sooo happy.
