Right, so I broke up with my b/f of one year last week, as I wanteed to be single...However, this other guy I met at a party, and have known him for 2 weeks, wants me to go to the ball with him he lives in another town, but I could easily go there...

My question to you is, If you were in my situation would you go to the ball with him or not, keeping in mind you wanted to stay good friends with the ex.

Thanks in advice xx

Do you want to go to the ball?

I think what ever you do its gonna be hard to stay friends with your ex, especially if he didn't agree to the break up.

Yeah kind of I can both the pro's and con's

pro's: it would be a good night out
A new town, new people, a 2nd chance...

Con's: the ex situation
And asking the parent's...I'm not sure they will be keen on it...hmmm

Ask your parents if they say yes then go.

Don't worry about your ex, he will get over it.

Your 17 go have fun, don't worry about boys.

I don't understand why it's a problem. Your ex is your EX, so why not go with the other guy. What should one have to do with the other?
...Or did you promise EX you wouldn't date other people?

Your ex- is your ex- for a reason. Don't allow what he may think to dictate what you do. If you wish to go to the ball, then go. If you're going with the new guy just as a friend and the ex- asks about it, then you can tell him that you're going with a friend. Nothing more. If you're hoping for more than a friend with the new guy, even after you professed that you wanted to be single, perhaps you should rethink why you really broke up with your boyfriend to begin with and tell him the truth; OR, if that's not the case then just tell him that you've changed your mind due to recent developments. You're entitled to do that on occasion, y'know!

G'luck~

It's time to move forward.

Why not go to the ball with the new person....That sounds like a good thing to do, as many others here suggested.

I am sure you will have a lot of fun and the new person may be a lot of fun and understand what you are feeling about the break up.

I wish you success!
