Never a truer word has been said.

I know there are some gripes about mods and admins. There always will be, in line with the quote from the big man himself.

However, I ask everyone to remember the following -

1. Moderating is not fun. It has absolutely no perks for those that do it.
2. Moderators and admins give their time freely in an effort to make this site a better place for all it's members. We love TFS, and we want to make it a better place.
3. The favouritism that is often quoted simply does not exist. We all have better things to do with our time than try to vindicate individual members or laud others.
4. We try to deal with everyone on a level playing field, regardless of who they are. There are examples of people in the top ten of my friend list that I have punched for contravening site rules. There are well known members of the site who have received warnings, had threads locked etc...
5. You will not agree with every decision we make. We have to try to do what is best for TFS and the majority of it's members in any given situation. You may not always be part of that majority.

When we see threads complaining about us, it is not only upsetting to us personally, but disreuptive to the site. All the mods and admins, and Tino, are easily accessible. It is fine to contact us directly with any questions that you may have. It's hard for us to not see these threads as trouble making, and yet we still try to allow them to run their course where possible.

In closing, please remember that we are members of this site too, and human beings. We have feelings, and they can be hurt. We are working for you for no pay, and I don't think there is a member on the site that can say a moderator hasn't helped them in some way or other during their time here.

i gotta say i could never do what u guys do because i care too much for people i could never be fair i think its great that you guys do what u do and put up with the crap some people throw at you i can honestly say though ever mod on tfs is great, as u said there people and what nice people they are!lol ure all fair and friendly and greatly helpful and most of us appreciate what u guys do now bless me! haha jk!

i see things a wee bit differently.

i am a Moderator on a 4 500 people comunity (and some other less segnificant places), and there was never any idea of favoritsm, mods should not human, mods should not have emotion...

there is one simple rule...if your an ass...you get kicked !
a couple of my colegues on Metalhead are like "but he is my friend...i can't ban him" or "he is way to funny...it's ok if he screwed up once"...yet, when push comes to shove...they do it anyway.

there will always be a degree of subjectivism, you can't help that...that's why we made a system : all mods vote either we punish someone or not, that way...no one has any moral difficulties (kinda like the execution with the blank bullets)...i am sure there is a similar system here, and if there is not...there should be (i am referring to punches and bans only, spam and other crap must get deleted as fast as possible)

anyway, the mods here are some very very very understanding people...if i were one...half the posts would be deleted before anyone has the chance to reply

We try to interfere as little as possible really. We don't want TFS to become a hardline censored forum site. But we also don't want it to be a crazy free for all.

And yes, we try to be objective as possible, but whatever the case we can't physically stop being human!

Meh I shant bother giving people gentle warnings when they flame any more, i will just punch them

Every day I have less and less reason to come here When you step in and try and avoid a conflict everyone turns on the moderator.

People have no scope or idea what evasive action is. They just see something has been locked or someone has been warned and then gang up and go on and on and on about how unfair the moderators are and how we do a terrible job and how we should have done it this way or that way.

If you want TFS to end up like every other forum on the net where people are bullied and ridiculed just carry on!

As for us having favourites, dont think just because you are on our friends list or we chat to you that you are immune. Dont think it for a second!!!!

There never have been favourites on TFS, just people who accept a punch or warning in good faith and those who scream, shout and try and drag the whole place down with them.

The mods wanna post less and less because whatever we say is twisted and turned against us. People attack us for our views yet we cannot retaliate.

Well personally im sick of being poked with a stick through the railings and so is pretty much all the staff on here.

Where it goes from here is up to you, yes you the whiners!
