And, to repeat your line, "sorry to be a perfectionist" . . . but I think you mean Dissociative Identidy Disorder. It's not been called MPD in a while.

Well, I wouldn't know, it's not been considered a diagnosis worthy of studying on my course as yet - propably because it's so rare. But cheers for the heads up

I wasn't trying to create a thread about someone..I was just using it as an example, and saying I thought it was really sad.

And I think a post got erased somewhere b/c I don't really get the whole Jon and I being fake thing...I must've missed something.

s***, if we're fake, than I really have no life making up all these stories and pictures and my kyahbean.com website and picture gallery holy crap.

Im was of those people who beleives pretty much anything anyone tells me until proven otherwise. Unfortunately some of the people i have come across on the net have changed that.

I think faking death and life threatening situations on forums where people actually care about each other is appauling behaviour.

While the joker is sitting there having a little chuckle, do they realise that some people are actually shedding a tear for them

To the opposite extreme, I was on another forum in the past where a gal posted her fiance had been in a horrific motor vehicle accident. She then came back a few days later, indicating that he had died in the hospital and she wouldn't be back around. A lot of members bashed her, indicating that she had made it all up in an attempt to gain sympathy, etc. A few people did some digging, only to find the news story that confirmed she did indeed have a fiance who died shortly before their wedding date. So, you never know what may be real . . . or not.

yeah thats the thing, you can hardly call someone out as a liar because it may well be true.

When someone is supposed to have died a year before and then you see them posting again either someone is sick in the head or they have been f***ing with you the whole time.

Yeah, sounds like some of my students . . . who all of a sudden cannot take a test or turn in an assignment because their grandmother died.

. . .

For the sixth time.

that man who done that on the other site you use must be sick in the head and need some sort of help, but the worst bit he knew you would be upset and because you all thought she really was real, was all grieving and trying different ways to make my money to help her family out.you all must have been mad at him and totally gutted that another person could and did play with every ones emmotions to such a large extent,i bet your all far more cautious who you talk to now, i kow i would be,id be thinking whats the next person gonna make up,perhaps a bit cynical some may say but after that event, who wouldnt be.

You cannot beleive all you see and hear on the internet. We are all at some one time or another responsible for being fake.
We have all told a wee white lie to someone either in real life or on here.
So What We Are All Fake. Have a bit of fun. Life is too short and some people take things so literally and seriously.

Thing is Molly if something happened to you or Ben or any of yours (god forbid it doesnt) i would genuinely be upset about it.

Thats the thing, there are people like me that take thier net freindships seriously.

Is it so wrong of me to beleive what people say on face value?

Was it wrong of me to be genuinely upset and sympathtic when this person was supposed to have died and then i find out its just some joker taking the piss out of us all and continues to sucker people in the same way over and over and over again?

I honestly believe, that, yes friendships that are made over the internet can be real, but, always bare in mind, is this person really genuine, and through many many posts, pm's etc then the truth will be told.
