REASONS FOR CHEATING

A new survey claims men and women stray for very different reasons. The top reason blokes give for playing away is a lack of sex at home - while unfaithful women claim falling in love with someone else led them to cheat. Does that surprise you? Are men and women really that different when it comes to infidelity? Are men driven by their physical urges while women are ruled by their hearts? If you?ve done the dirty, what made you do it?

I think that many women (more than most would admit) are driven by their need for the 'thrill' and 'excitement' that sex with a different person would bring. They are just more discreet about it. We all know that it's a given that women are more conscientious when it comes to lying (by omission or otherwise); for one - rarely would a woman forget what she lied about, as many men have.

Women are just as likely to cast the net as the men do, it's just that perhaps women are afraid to do so for fear of being labeled as a 'whore' or a 'slut'.

To be fair, many women enter a relationship with the hopes of it progressing into something deeper, whilst many men simply take it a day at a time and leave their options open in the meantime. I guess with marriage, the commitment on the guy's part IS there - but basically, a man needs more than just stability and security in their lives; unless of course - they have sown their wild oats enough to know that the grass was actually brown and painted green over on the other side. Many women settle into a comfortable state of being after marriage, they let themselves go, and simply relax in the knowledge that they have 'secured' their man. They stop making an effort. Perhaps this is why many men stray more than anything else... when there's nothing to look forward to when they come home, why would they want to?

Women, on the other hand - perhaps stray because of a need to be 'wanted' and 'desired', things that her husband conveniently forgets to constantly assure her once he has placed that ring on her finger. A hug, a kiss, a simple gesture of appreciation would make the big difference to a woman. Those little acts that many guys take for granted - translates into love, and the feeling of being loved - to a woman.

It's not rocket science.

I've found that most women who cheat later decide that sex with one is not that much different from sex with another. I mean yeah some men are better at it than others but it's usually the romance that the women go after. I think that hearing you're beautiful, you're smart , you're all that and a bag a chips sets a man up for the peice of a lifetime he hopes and the woman just loves hearing those things about herself because some husbands just never get aroudn to saying those things tho his wife.

Women love to be chased at BAby pointed out hell I think we even love being caught unlike many of our male counterparts.

Of course this is just my take on the subject.

This may sound perverse... but I think many women actually want to be caught, in the hopes that it may just shake their partners up. Of course - this runs to the extreme, and it's a risk that many take which has no grey areas whatsoever.

I have severe depression and ADD and one of the reasons I cheated was because I need something major to lift me up sometimes. I feel guilty as heck afterwards and never intentionally set out to hurt anyone, as a matter of fact I despise hurting people. That and if I'm not getting what I want out of my relationship, I will tend to look elsewhere for it.

There are always reasons for actions if you look for them...but no excuses...if you aren't getting what you want from your relationship talk it through with your partner...they may be able to give you what you feel you are missing...if they can't then either accept that or break off the relationship and then (and only then) search for what's missing elsewhere.

I can't stand this no blame attitude so many in society have. Nothing is ever anyone's fault...there are always excuses dressed up as 'reasons'...

As far as I'm concerned to cheat on someone because you are not being 'fulfilled' or getting what 'you need' (or ANY other reason) is appalling and simply an extremely dishonest and selfish action...

There is no reason to cheat,

If you aren't happy, work on it, or break up.

Then move on.

I haven't cheated. But I do think men and women do it for different reasons. Men give love for sex and women give sex for love.

anyways.. Like was previously said there is no reason to cheat but those who do I would guess their either bored or the lost of excitement & connection.

There is no valid reason for cheating.

If you don't want to be with your current partner, or you wish to be with someone else - then end the current relationship.

I agree with that! From a womans point of view, I think that if your mate isnt giving you what you need (ex. sexual and emotional) then when someone comes along and does its easy for women to have the desire to want the one giving them what they need. I have never acyually cheated on anyone but I know what I need as a person and how i could.
