This christmas, I will be spending the holidays with Jon and his family. Its the first time that I've ever been there for christmas and I want to give his parents something not only for christmas but for allowing me to spend the holidays with their family (mine are going ot be in mexico lol).
So. at first i was completely lost. I was thinking of buying them a painting, gift cards, candles... crazy things.
But then my step dad told me that maybe jon and I should go get our pictures taken together. Like professionally and put it in a nice frame and wrap it up. His mom has pictures of family all over their house, and I even asked my mom on her idea on it and she thinks its a good idea.

If your child gave you a framed photograph with their boyfriend/girlfriend/.. fiancee lol. Do you think you would really like it, or appreciate it??

Im all out of ideas

How about like a ceramic or statue of some sort, candle set, or a coffee gift basket?

I think they would love it. It is something that they can look at and enjoy everyday.

very reserved homely people. i was gonna get them like.. a gift card to futureshop (technology store).. but i mean... they're pretty loaded and can go buy whatever they want whenever they want, i dont think my measly little 50$ gift card would matter

they drink wine. but they have everything a wine bottle needs lol. they even have their own cellar.
umm, i dont know. lol, i dont know TONS about them really, and i dont wanna look stupid by getting them something that looks corny.

We had our family pics made one year and I had already invested so much in the pictures that I decided to just give the pictures for the presents. It worked out really well for both my family and D.s. I framed some of them, other's I just put in a gift box and gave to them. We're going to have our pics made this weekend so I'll be giving some pictures as presents but that won't be the only thing I give.

how about a new experience for them? a psychic reading? or a tandem skydive? not a huge photo fan myself - particularly if they're posed/not-spontaneous.

subscription to a local theatre company? mountain bikes and a map????? white water rafting?

just a thought

you could always do the charity thing,
like adopt a goat or koala or a starving child for them of something.
