Are you often disappointed with life?
September 02, 2019 @ 02:57:29 am
Life seems to be nothing but disappointments.

Some disappointments are insignificant, such as the new restaurant in the local mall food court still not being open. It will serve Greek food, which happens to be my fave. Other disappointments are devastating, such as that person I looked up to who somehow took it the wrong way and got super pissed. My last entry contains all the details.

I've been disappointed for as long as I remember. It started in middle school when I kept being disciplined for acting like everyone else. Yet, my classmates who behaved the same way never got into the trouble I did. Same continued in high school. It was double standards. Had it not been for double standards, I woulda taken all the classes I need for an honors diploma or w/e.

After high school, I moved here to MO. The first few years when I experienced negative reactions from ppl was all my fault. I was a b**** to everyone. I quit my job at McDonald's in 2010 bc I couldn't handle my own b****iness. I had since changed when I started my job at Crossmark in 2012. I became more pleasant to be around, which is why it baffles me that my supervisor at Arby's ended up mean to me 5 years later. I was nice to everyone and so most people accept me. I woulda understood if that supervisor simply brushed me off but still let me work there. She used to like me, actually. I really don't understand her full blown hatred towards me.

Immediately after Arby's, I took a seasonal job at Ross, but since it was a seasonal position, my job ended come January, along with s***load of my seasonal coworkers'. That was disappointing. My Arby's induced mental breakdown caused me to leave my job at Crossmark during June of last year. I'm now back at the same McDonald's franchise that employed me a decade before. I'm glad I get to start over.

My biggest disappointment is never being able to find anyone to look up to w/o pissing them off.

Would you like a down-to-earth psychological profiling of most humans whom will, unjustifiably and sub-consciously, recognize like personality traits in others and proceed to judge them based on the words/actions of people they've known previously with the same traits?

Or would you like the more disturbing metaphysical explanation concerning a large and vindictive portion of the world mistaking themselves, collectively, as a god in regards to a certain 'glitch' in Life's system?

Watch the following: Truthfully Debbie is just as good as Sarah however her evaluator has an agenda......

No. For me life is not disappointing. Life is a blast. I'm having a great time living.

The times I have been disappointed in life all involved two things: 1. People and...2. Me having high expectations for those people.

At some point I realized that I was responsible for my feelings and my actions. However, I am not responsible for other people's actions. And, since I do not typically go around acting like a jackass, I am not responsible for people's feelings. So, when people "let me down" it is actually my issue not theirs. Disappointing? Yes... but not to the point that it disappoints me about life. People do whatever they do... I learn what to expect from them, and live based on that expectation.

I believe it was Margaret Thatcher who said, Hope for the best, expect and plan on the worst, and you will never be disappointed (or some variation of that... she probably got the phrase from someone else...)

Any way, in my life the majority of my failings and failures have, ultimately, been my own fault. I don't like beating up on myself. so I try to learn from my mistakes and always forgive myself.

Life is not disappointing to me.

I'm disappointed that the new building down the road of a fairly residential neighborhood is a Taco Bell.
I was hoping for a Chick-Fil-A.

The latter?

Schizo's hear 'voices'
Psychics hear 'others thoughts'
Thanks to our extremely slow neurological researchers there's a good
possibility that some schizo's added the two dots above, have decided they are collectively "The Borg" and won't hire you or keep you hired because you don't have their same ability; they regard you as lesser and one whom should scramble for their scraps.

The former?

Here - Violent Femmes tells it:

Reading between my frustrated sardony understand this:

You are not 100% to blame for your situation

50% the blame probably

But you can't Tango without two

So it's your short-comings VS everyone else's (everyone else has short-comings too but they will always tell you otherwise)

Personally my advice is just to wait it out never taking it seriously or expecting much. Like kicking back in a filthy banana boat you mistook for Carnival Cruise Line; you'll still get to the Bahamas so a bit wasteful to throw yourself overboard.

I guess you, I was disappoint, at least, once in my life. I tried do tango with my reflection in my bathroom mirror.

not only, he tried to take the lead, he gave the finger to my face, and the bastard left the bathroom half through the song!
