My life in an online nutshell
Public entry So the stupidest thing has happened!
July 24, 2008 @ 01:21:36 pm

So yesterday I went to Brighton, where I went to get a piercing in my ear. I made the appointment there, and I went to the bank to get out some money with my new card that I'd been sent in the post.

I went to the cash machine, shoved my card in there and put in my pin number. Then it said that I had unauthorised access to use the card, and ate my card!!!

I ran into the bank like a headless chicken demanding to know what the f**k was going on. Luckily I had my passport with me as a form of ID or they would probably have accused me of being a bank card thief

It turns out, that the card I'd been sent in the post was my old one, that someone had found and handed in (there ARE some good people in this world!) but it was the card that I had cancelled a couple of days before. I'd thought it was my new one and had tried to use it!

The thing is, there was no note from the bank, saying that it was my old card, so as far as I was concerned it was a new one.

Banks are f**king retarded, I blame my embarrassment on them.

If they'd have told me that the card they'd sent me was my old one, that would have never have happened!

We'll need to see the surveillance film of the entry as a headless chicken, before we can believe your story.

How many days prior had you reported you old card lost or missing?

When will you be receiving your 'new' bank-card?

I thought I got paid the other day, I rang up and checked the balance of my savings account (thinking it was my main account) So I went shopping, got to the register and it declined. So I got s**tty and went to the bank, turns out, I hadn't been paid, I just pressed the wrong button on telephone banking and got the balance of my actual savings account, and not my main savings account.

So we're both f**king idiot lovie

I lost the card on Thursday but I didn't realise until Sunday, when I rang them up and reported it missing and cancelled the card. They said that they would send me a new one within 7 days, it came on Tuesday and I thought it was a bit quick!

Write to them and complain. It's good that they actually sent it back to you but they should have put something with it to say that it was your old card.

What is complaining about it going to do?

You shouldn't be allowed to use an unsigned card.

Yeah it's weird that the things are banks do to protect us can cause us so much stress. They should have at least sent you a note letting you know that someone had found your card and turned it in though.
