A little insight to my dull life.
Public entry So the stupidest thing has happened!
July 24, 2008 @ 01:21:36 pm

So yesterday I went to Brighton, where I went to get a piercing in my ear. I made the appointment there, and I went to the bank to get out some money with my new card that I'd been sent in the post.

I went to the cash machine, shoved my card in there and put in my pin number. Then it said that I had unauthorised access to use the card, and ate my card!!!

I ran into the bank like a headless chicken demanding to know what the f**k was going on. Luckily I had my passport with me as a form of ID or they would probably have accused me of being a bank card thief

It turns out, that the card I'd been sent in the post was my old one, that someone had found and handed in (there ARE some good people in this world!) but it was the card that I had cancelled a couple of days before. I'd thought it was my new one and had tried to use it!

The thing is, there was no note from the bank, saying that it was my old card, so as far as I was concerned it was a new one.

Banks are f**king retarded, I blame my embarrassment on them.

If they'd have told me that the card they'd sent me was my old one, that would have never have happened!

Yeah it's weird that the things are banks do to protect us can cause us so much stress. They should have at least sent you a note letting you know that someone had found your card and turned it in though.

All I got was a piece of paper that said "with compliments"

Well, Laura, I think your blame is being mis-directed! You should be really pissed at the poor honest old lady that found your card and turned it in to the bank. If she had not meddled in your affairs, it would have been impossible for the bank to return your 'old' card before you had even cancelled it!

The nerve of some people!

Really?

I don't know, you could tell them that you want some compensation for the stress that they put you under

In fact, mine wasn't actually a bumper sticker but one for a car window. I don't think I've ever had a bumper sticker
