Sometimes, I really want to tell my mother to STOP!
We were out shopping today. Not typically a big deal, but she was making me nuts. My mother and I have very different taste in clothing, so most of what she would buy for me is just not my style! I usually just tell her that I don't like something, but today, she wanted REASONS why I didn't like things. So I'm standing in stores trying to explain that I don't like the style, or the color, or the fabric, or whatever it is that I don't like. It didn't go well. She said I was being difficult I'm just not a fan of orange...thanks anyway, Mom.
While we were at the outlets, we walked past a guy who was smoking. No big deal, it's outside and I can take a few extra steps to avoid walking right next to him. No, my mother made a smart remark about the guy smoking. I rolled my eyes and kept walking. The guy didn't like my mom making whatever comment it was (I wasn't even paying attention to her, to be honest... ) She got into an argument with this guy about him smoking OUTSIDE! I finally apologized to him FOR her and said, "MOM! He's OUTSIDE! Where in the HELL do you want him to go! It's not illegal for him to smoke a cigarette and he's not hurting you!" She didn't stay mad long.
Sometimes, I really want to tell her to knock it off, though |
