Public entry Help me pick a new haircut!!
May 08, 2008 @ 11:51:57 pm

I'm thinking about trying a new hairstyle. This is a HUGE deal for me, considering that I haven't changed my hairstyle in almost 20 years!

My hair is down to my waist and wavy...if it's short, it's curly and IMPOSSIBLE to manage. So I want to keep it long, but I'm thinking of trying a new style.

Help me find something?

Have you tried layers or bangs or BOTH? I didn't have bangs for over 10 years, then my stylist gave me them. She didn't change much else with my style, but it really looks cool. Just wisp them off to the side a little and you've got a new trendy look. I think Nicole Richie has the bangs I have. She uses extentions but if you already have long hair then you won't need them.

yeah..i think bangs are a good idea and long layers that will give you movement without your hair being too heavy kwim?

I'm working on this slowly since I have to find a new hair dresser. Any good websites to look at some pictures?

Not really. I've had the same style for a LOOOOOONG time and I never really think about changing it. But I'm contemplating.

Take the length just past your shoulder and ask your stylist to reshape and layer, as long as you leave enough length, if you don't like you can redo in a couple of months...

Mine is curly and I don't do bangs - just long layers to shape it nicely. If it's all one length the bottom sort of goes out like a bell. The longest part comes down to just touch my shoulders - I have a LOT of hair though so if it gets too long it completely overwhelms my face.

Do you wear yours curly or do you straighten it?

I wear it curly. I don't have the patience to straighten it. BUT, when it's long, it's more wavy than curly. When it's short it's unruly and ridiculous.
