Yesterday morning, I went next door to get my breakfast. As I was standing in line, I noticed that the woman in front of me had a tag sticking up from the collar of her shirt. I touched her arm and told her that the tag was out. She thanked me and asked if I would tuck it back in for her, which I did. Then she said "that would've been embarrassing to walk around with that tag sticking out all day!" After she got her order and left, the woman behind me told me that it was incredibly rude for me to tuck the other woman's tag back in. I replied that I had told the woman her tag was sticking out. The one who said I was rude didn't say anything right away, then she said, "well it was still rude!"
Then this morning, as I was walking into the Metro Station to get on the train, someone tried to hand me one of the free newspapers that they give out every day. I don't take them, I read a book on the train instead. This guy this morning just would NOT take no for an answer and kept shoving the stupid thing in my face, so I finally took it, then put it back on top of a stack of the same papers about 10 feet away. The man behind me said that I was rude to put it back. I didn't want the darn thing and the guy kept shoving it in my face and wouldn't let me pass. Would it have been better for me to drop it on the ground, like so many others do?
The general consensus on MM is that I didn't do anything wrong and that these people are just nuts! Now that I know for sure I didn't do anything wrong, it amuses me!
