Public entry My son kicks ass
May 15, 2008 @ 05:07:01 pm
My son came to me irate because of the way the Patriot Act has infringed on our personal liberties. YAY! We had yet another great discussion about the direction this country seems to be headed (losing our rights and liberties, government getting larger and more invasive) and what needs to happen to get it back under control. Not to brag too much, but the guy is wicked smart and a fantastic debater. I encouraged him to finish his BA in Law or Political Science, go on to do his Masters and get into politics. He’s so bothered by what he sees happening, he’s thinking about doing it. I’m SO excited by this prospect!! I love that he hates what’s going on, feels passionately about it and wants to be part of the change…a voice of sanity.

the truly funny thing I find, aside from all your insults of my punctuation and comprehension.

Non of you are able to discribe which of your civil libierties are removed with the aplication of said patiot act.

And jonny...that conversation between us you just posted is HIGHLY edited and you know it.

Sweetie, darling, each of us CAN describe which of our rights we feel are being violtaed but (pay attention here) we CHOOSE not to engage with you. Why you ask? Because you are annoying.

The Patriot Act allows the FBI to order anyone to turn over any tangible item that they feel may relate to an ongoing investigation.

No warrant, individual suspicion, or probable cause needed.

Therefore, as stated in my PM to doubtingthomas, the Patriot Act allows the government to infringe upon my Constitutionally-guaranteed rights at will.

And that's just one such provision.

Now shut up about it.

yeah can we knock this on the head before it turns into TUNAGATE!

Besides its someones journal - its different to debate in a thread than someones personal space.

well done Vissy, you should be really proud
proud of yourself too, not alot of kids get the chance to bounce ideas off their parents to that degree, well done.

Thanks We talk about everything and anything. Debate, argue, share. Sometimes I think he tells me too much about his life, but I suppose I'd rather that then not enough.

And NO TUNA GATE!

Hey Viz - Thats great!!

I have to admit that I have no doubt that your son is smart - just look at his mum (mom, meh!).

I am sure he will go on to do great things!

have your proud moments, and don't let a** holes try to take it away!
