| I'm a member of several Yahoo! Groups. Recently I've noticed a growing trend in bashing a person who is in the group (even though they're on their way to being forced out) BEFORE they have left the group. Therefore any message sent about that person will still get to them and they read it. What is the point in being so mean? If you have an issue with the person email them privately. To me public groups are not the place for fighting or name calling. The group I'm talking about in particular is for round robins and I guess a member I've had good experiences with is somehow a bad swapper and doesn't fulfill her robin send ons or something...IDK. But I felt the need to speak up that it's rude to do this. The person I'm talking about did in fact reply to the message sent about her and said she will be keeping it, though I'm not totally sure why. I just don't get why people are like this. And since I have had no problems with this person at all I have to wonder just what the heck is going on. Anyways that's my rant for the day...well there are a few other things I'll say but I'm going to be nice and just shut my mouth. ...Lest I end up finding out that people are now against me for speaking my mind.
Oh and I guess what I am asking is whether or not the general public agree's that groups are not the place for fighting. Especially when it's over something that could in effect make others think negatively of someone. | |

Meister 1255 points | I have to agree. If you take issue with someone .. take it in private, unless they have taken issue with you in less than private circumstances ... in which case I say ... no holds barred, the rules have already been set, now I play by them. You want public humiliation .. here we go, may the best person win.
You do have to keep in mind that whatever you do post, public or private, reflects most on you, the poster, and then secondly on whomever you may be posting about or to.
I like the way you think. |

Meister 1434 points | I agree. If they have a profile, email you. If they have issues, etc. Just like what we are dealing with the Ken Hda thing. At least email us and tell us what the hell we did wrong, etc. I hope htings get straightened out with this issue as well as your issue with this person which I know who it is I think which I won't say. I hpope things will get better with both issues though.

yeah, some people are just plain mean...they are not satisfied with just telling a person off in private, they have to do it in public where everyone else can read it. It's not fair to the person concerned. I know of a person like that, but she does it in real life which is even worse. |
