| i have recently been diagnosed with depression. on anti depressants and i know they take at least 2 weeks to kick in and it could be longer before i start to feel better, but i am so angry with myself. i would ahve said i was one of those people who dont get depressed and i am even more angry with myself for letting things get to me and stress me out and make me ill. | |

Über-General 676 points | Don't feel angry with yourself. Many people suffer from depression during periods of their life and require medication. There's no shame in it.
Hope you feel better soon |

Apprentice 36 points | hey dont be so hard on yourself
mate i have been depressed and still am at times and we are our own worst ememies
it takes time for things to happen and although you may feel like its pointless at times always remember there sunshine after rain and when you start to feel better within yourself things will look and feel differently for the better
trust me
and in the meantime try to do things that make you laugh as this will create natural endorphins in ur brain and help you to feel better
hang in there bud
theres better times ahead

Minister 13230 points | thank you for all your kind comments. i have good days when i feel ok and i have motivation to do stuff, but other days it is enough to drag myself out of bed. i just feel lik ei am letting everyone down.
when i am having a good day i relish in it, like last night i went to see my friend and spoke to another one and felt loads better for it. |

Über-Meister 2444 points | The best cure for depression is get up and go outside, and do somthing that gives you a feeling of accomplishment when you finish it. Some examples...
-mow the grass
-teach your self to yoyo better then anyone else
-go out and fish
-plant a garden
-climb a giant hill |
