Well, I was riding shotgun with my safety belt securely fastened, getting off the highway and headed through a flashing yellow light, I yell "Holy Shit!" as we slam into the driver side door of a young girl's car.
The only part of the crash I actually remember was placing my hands on the dashboard to stabilize myself and avoid whiplash... because the upper torso strap of my seat belt didn't lock. Then immediately after coming to a halt, I check to make sure I'm still alive... I know my buddy behind me wasn't wearing his belt and he definitely hit the back of my seat, so I ask if he's okay first, then our driver, both give me the thumbs up and I rip my belt off, open the door and book it to the car we hit.
She's already got a paper towel to her head, as I ask if she's okay, she merely says "I'm conscious, but I'm bleeding." And I turn around and just yell at the top of my lungs, "CALL NINE-ONE-ONE!"
Both drivers end up getting in the ambulance after about 30 minutes of talking to the authorities.
I feel like such an a** for saying it, but I really wish I would have got Kelsey's number... not for insurance purposes, but simply for my own personal ends. At first it was just me being a kind soul to make sure we didn't kill someone... then to find out she's hurt and I want to make sure she's okay... then simply because I was attracted to this girl as she tried to apologize for something that didn't require an apology. Was it wrong to think of it? Or was it wrong to not ask?
Either way... I'm pretty sure she's fine. And our driver was already diagnosed with sciatica before the accident and said the accident worsened his condition... he'll be fine in the end, I'm sure. My friend in the back probably got jostled pretty good, but he's walkin around and being the same guy. And I had already pulled my hamstring earlier and just about every muscle in my body during the crash... I'll sleep it off. Too bad I don't have health insurance, but I'm sure I'll be fine.
What a way to start off our night... we were havin a great time at our local truck stop, drinking coffee and bulls**tting about life... and we were on our way to do a bit of gaming at our LAN center.
Ah well. No pain, no gain. Such is life.

I'm finally moving back to Grand Rapids, MI, tomorrow. The city I'm living in now is simply dead... there are no jobs, overall it's just a boring place to be, even if it is beautiful here.
I'll be glad to be back up where I belong, with my closest friends... I haven't been up there in 2 years, this mother's day.
Wish me luck. It's a big risk, but sometimes you just need to experience the exciting unknown.
