My sleep patterns have been f**ked.
Ive had no more than 3-4 hours a night sleep since the accident and I fell asleep on the lounge at 10pm last night and its 4am and now I cant get back to sleep.
The dreams are killing me too

maybe see a doctor about sleeping pills, or try that tea they have that helps you fall asleep? I cant remember what its called. I know about how dreams can keep you from sleeping though.

After what you've been through it's perfectly natural, but going without sleep is very bad for the mind. You need your sleep in order to function properly, so if it doesn't improve, in my opinion get the doc to give some temporary sleeping aid until your back on a good sleeping schedule.

Have you tried counting ghosts?

Take Melatonin. It's soothing and puts you to sleep. Just one pill will lull you into a very restful sleep.
