Not sure why it is, or if it's just me, but even though there is lots going on here, I always feel tons better and more focused after being here. Doesnt matter if its only for a few minutes or a few hours, I just feel better. There really are super folks on this site.

July 24, 2008 @ 08:50:38 pm
i havent been here for a few...and when i checked on my friends, i saw so many things happenin over such a short period....got me to thinking, why is Summer so packed, kinda like on fast forward, like 3 months of Winter folly squeezed into one day of Summer? Is it just me, or is that how it goes?

Busiest month ever!
May 01, 2008 @ 09:12:40 am
April 2008 was my busiest month ever with over 120,000 post! This beats the last busiest month ever, March 2008, that had over 85,000 posts. Additionally, more than 2/3rds of the busiest days ever were in April.

There will soon be in excess of 2.2 million posts and 40,000 accounts.

Thank you TFS ~ Too Cool~ Son Gets Huge Boost & Bonus
April 30, 2008 @ 05:01:39 am
While my son and I had so much fun here looking for unusual idioms you provided for his cla** project, I have to say this. THANK YOU !! His teacher was so impressed by the unusual idiom (she had not heard), she kept both his presentation and his 3-D project for future classes and earned bonus points for his grade! You inspired him to create a mini model. I'm not sure the teach will give it back gosh I wish I had a pic to show you!! Thank you. But it gets better!

Racism and my son. Teacher and I flunk.
April 29, 2008 @ 02:17:13 am
My 13 yr old had to redo a book report that he actually flunked last week. I flipped (he's never gotten less than a "B" in anything!) and insisted he bring it home so I could take a look at it and he could turn it in again for a better grade. One redo per report, thank goodness. This eve, I find the teacher had written the comment that his evaluation was vague and incomplete because when asked about the "plot" my son commented he didn't think there was one or a theme. He stated the writer just wrote an interesting story to try and entertain someone. Period. My son obviously wasnt entertained.
So here's the deal.

Are my sons learning parenting techniques?
April 26, 2008 @ 07:56:19 pm
My teenage son had a couple of his buddies stay over last nite and I was remarking to one of the parents today that I would write a book called the Invisible Teenager. The only problem would be that I would have nothing to write about because quite frankly I never saw or heard these guys from the time they walked in the door and headed to my son's bedroom until this morning when hunger drove them downstairs! Amazing. Stealth mode practice. These guys are also practicing selective hearing. The other parents and I agreed that with continued stealth mode and selective hearing practice, our sons will become great parents
