Public entry soccer/football seasons coming (local team)
July 10, 2007 @ 09:13:50 pm
I wish the soccer association here would get a move on and e-mail me my roster for the boys u13 travel team i coach so i can start practice's. These kids played last season at 8-a-side since it was their first travel season and haven't played 11-a-side yet, we competed well with teams from richmond and virginia beach (soccers more popular there) but they were just good, now the new season is only a month away and politics are playing a role in a travel league, causing changes to already selected rosters and it's holding up an early start. I didn't play on sunday in the hispanic league for my team Chivas i didn't feel good at all, but i'm looking foward to this sundays game, even though we're getting our butts kicked everywere. They got promoted last season and lost some players, this is my first season with them, i used to drive 2 hours to go play now i only have a 20 minute trip (big change) i'll keep you updated but the results won't be pretty.

Public entry The Internet at it's best (better grab a drink of choice)
July 10, 2007 @ 01:28:00 am
My wife and i met on january 10th 2001 in an aol chat room(she's giving me the dates lol)I am from liverpool england and was 18 she is from virginia usa and she was 20. To protect herself she told me her name was cassandra(keep this in mind)and she worked in a bar. It took 2 weeks till she told me her real name only because i wanted to trade addresses, talk more than just over the internet. Writing shortly turned into phone calls, and the fun we had trying to understand the same language was hillarious, with our different accent's and dialects. The first weird thing happened in febuary 01 when she asked me my birth date. At exactly the same time both our birthdays came up THE SAME, she's just two years older (gotta luv older women). As march approached feelings started to brew and it sounds funny but theres something about learning a person with-out meeting them, trusting they are who they say they are, and wanting to be with them. So i broke and said those three little words. We talked about how great a birthday gift it would be if we could meet, and in May 01 she said she bought a ticket to see me. So july 22nd came a few days after our birthday and i picked her up from Manchester airport, and that first kiss and first night together was amazing. Her ticket was only good for two weeks, but she chose to stay choosing to watch my semi pro football/soccer game in scotland instead of me taking her back the airport. Two months later on september 29th 01 we got married and moved into our own flat in wallasey. In May 2002 her parents paid for us to come visit them, with them never seeing me i was dreading the thought of the son-in-law talk with her dad, what made it worse was that i married her without them being there. But fears were replaced with welcoming arms into a new family. This visit also turned into a long term stay, filing papers for my green card and permits was a nightmare and alot of money but we got through it and in october 02 the pregnancy test displayed a plus sign. We moved out of her parents place when we gathered enough to put down a deposit on an apartment and ate off an up-turned box and sat on bean chairs watching a small screen tv inside 4 empty walls(those were the days). Time went by and with help we managed to set up a home and on july 12th 2003 our baby girl CASSANDRA was born (she turns 4 this week)our youngest is KYRA she was born may 17th 2005. now we live in fulks run virginia happily married for going on 6 years with two little rug rats . ALlthough i miss home my mum lives only 20 miles away she too married an american. i hope this story inspires those who think nothing is possible, and feel trapped. The world is yours to roam abide by the rules and you'll be fine, anythings possible and too young dosn't matter, go for it, have fun, you have bad times sure, but remember the bean bag days, and peanut butter sandwiches

Public entry Give soccer a chance
July 09, 2007 @ 01:21:27 am
Hey guys just wanna let those of you who call football, soccer, that the sport needs a chance. Many american past time sports lovers think of soccer as a boring game this just due to lack of ubnderstanding. The first reason mainly being for a "low score". This is un-true, baseball and football have high sciores sure but a score in football of 21-14 is the equivelent of a 3-1 soccer score line. The world series isn't really a world series when two american teams go head to head. Soccer boasts a World cup as well as a European and American cup along with an Asian cup and so on. When i moved to the states i couldn't stand american football mainly due to lack of understanding, players getting hit was as far as the game went for me, so i gave it a chance and rented a playstation nfl game and this gave me understanding of the plays in the game and rules, now i like other americans look foward to the super bowl. Granted the mls needs a re-model and instead of putting it's expansion in the hands of one Beckham the league needs give it's self some worth watching appeal by making the league something to play for like the FA Premier league. I'll try and keep you up to date with the haps and would like to meet people interested in soccer or actually want to give it a chance. I also have a web site on free wwebs with info it too well thats it from me hey i think your kettles boiled now lol.
