Public entry not a fun weekend
June 23, 2008 @ 01:39:08 pm
Well, Thursday morning my wife and I were woken up at 6am, because of a loud noise. Turns out one of the guys from the neighborhood, fell asleep and crashed into my wife’s car. Thankfully I had the day off work already and no one was hurt. To make a long story short, the guy was not listed as a driver on the insurance and we are still waiting to hear how much damage was done to our car. It sure did not turn out to be a fun day. On a side note, it is getting warm here in TX.

Wow that's horrible. Wont your insurance be able to take care of that?

i want their ins to take care of it. in a way the good part is that we are both using the same ins company. only prob i see is that the driver of the car was not on the ins. maybe that will be a prob down the road... i hope not

I hope they don't make you claim it on yours under Uninsured Motorist

Unfort, I think it will be. If he wasn't covered, I'm pretty sure they won't pay. Did the driver have his own ins?

The vehicle was insured, so it should fall on the shoulders of the vehicle owner's insurance. Just don't let the two insurance companies play a game of putting it onto you as an uninsured motorist claim. That's the job of the vehicle owner's insurance company to go after the driver, not yours or your insurance company. Sly dogs. Definitely at least no one was hurt.
