Non-violence is not a dogma; it is a process. Other struggles may be fueled by greed, hatred, fear, or ignorance, but a non-violent one cannot use such blind sources of energy, for they will destroy those involved and also the struggle itself. Non-violent action, born of awareness of suffering and nurtured by love, is the most effective way to confront adversity.

I agree that there is no excuse for violence, I feel that if people are enouraged to assert their natural aggression in productive rather than destructive ways, then violence would not exist.

Why sell ourselves short? We have the ability to destroy ourselves, should we not at least make an attempt at peace? If we are to discover peace we must first find it in ourselves, then in our households, then in our communities, then in our nation, then in the world. Peace is possible and, I believe, worth the effort. |

I know i have an aggressive streak and when i had my babies i felt an animal instinct more than ever. I would have ripped the heads off anyone who went near them. |

i used to be really aggressive too, untill i started kung fu many years ago.. now it takes alot to piss me off.. i dont get scared much either.. but i doesnt mean i can defend myself against everthing.. but it controls my violence.. |

You did not harm your babies. To surrender the effort towards peace is simply to destroy ourselves. The first victim of violence is the one who employs it. |

Thats true, last time i lashed out at anyone, i felt really bad afterwards and disappointed with myself. |
