Public entry Business visit coming up
June 07, 2007 @ 10:06:51 pm
I'm off to London tomorrow on a business visit - well, by business visit, it's a drinking session with the big bosses really on a disco barge, but same difference.
Still, means I get an evening away, staying in this hotel (I've been warned strongly by the manager not to pinch the towels!). I'll be taking some college homework to do on the train down and back, arrrgh, no getting away from it
So this time tomorrow, I might be totally sozzled and telling someone way too senior that he is a pillock, or I might have been thrown in the river - watch this space

OK then, well we got on the boat, and the Thames was really choppy - I've been on smoother cross channel ferries. This meant though I was able to save money on drinks, because I was already feeling the room move. Just as well because the drinks were bloody extortionate!
Witnessed lots of things I wished I hadn't - people in obscene clinches, usual thing. OK, I'm only jealous because I didn't get grabbed (not!).
This was perhaps better than the gang on the shore by Tower Bridge who decided to "flash" at us. Eeeeugh, not a pretty sight.

Got off the boat, and one of the other managers suggested we ended up at a club he knows - all very well, but it was a gay club! A load of us decided "stuff that", sneaked off at this point and hit Leicester Square, someone had the idea there was an all night pizza place there. I also said I knew the way from Embankment. I did, but we still got lost -wasn't my fault, honest. Attempts by one to drunkenly insist to the bouncers at Stringfellows that he was "Pete's Mate" somehow didn't work (Wonder why ).

Long story short, staggered back to the hotel for last orders in the early hours, you know how I'm an early riser - well I was the only one to make breakfast (But that's because I'm greedy and wasn't going to miss out on sausage and egg).

Oh, and the day after, I lost the others (Because they were all boring anyway and were annoying by now ) and did a ton of shopping around Covent Garden (Be jealous, be very jealous ladies )

So yes, we all behaved impeccably. Fraid I was a bit boring really.
