Public entry Nosy mom

Mom is really driving me nuts right now. For some reason, she thinks that because I am her daughter, I have to tell her every little thing that I do.

Today she found out that I took her name off my bank account which means she can't go online anymore to find out how much I have in there in addition to how much I spent where anymore. So needless to say, she is livid. Why does she need to know that? She doesn't put any money in there. And if she does decide to give me money, what nice mommy would factor in how much their child already has into how much they give said kid?

She is also upset that I wouldn't answer my cell phone on Saturday. When I informed her that the times she called were not good for me. Saturday was first time in a long time that I did not have to work so I wanted to have some real down time that day.

She called once while I was at the movies, another time while I was getting my toes done, and another while I was getting my hair done. I wanted those times to myself. That made her really upset. I asked her why she didn't leave a message on my cell. She says she doesn't do that. She believes that people will call back if they see thay have a missed call. If I see I have a missed call but not voice message, I assume that the person calling did so over something unimportant because if you were to call someone about something important, you would leave a message, right?

Oh, and she's mad at me about something that happened yesterday as well. Yesterday she caught me taking a small box out of my living room and stuffing it into my bedroom closet. When she asked me what was in the box, I said "nothing" and locked the door. "Nothing, huh?" and gave me this look she always gives me when she believes that I am lying to her. My parents' 25th wedding anniversary is this New Years' Eve. My parents couldn't afford decent wedding jewelry when they got married the first time around so me and some other family members of mine decided to go in together and buy them some really nice wedding jewelry. I moved the box because I know mom will snoop. And the last thing I want her to do is see what's in that box and come to the false conclusion that I am getting married behind her back or something. (Seriously. A couple years ago, she thought I was trying elope because she found some cutouts of wedding dresses in a folder in my room. I had to inform her that I was helping a friend plan her wedding. When she gave me that "you're lying" look, I knew she wouldn't believe until I introduced her to said friend.)

I wonder why mom always believes I'm trying to pull a fast one on her? Maybe I should one day. Show up at a family event with her NEW son-in-law in tow. Bet she would love that.

OMG!!! I cried half way through this and cried the other half. My first instinct was to say "she's your mom , you only have one and she loves you. The more I read though the more I realized that your mom really is a control freak when it comes to you. I can't say a whole lot on this subject because I was so close to my mom and I'd give everything I have at the moment for just one more day with her.

Grin an bear it but your Mom is a fast one you better watch your p's and Q's with her.
